Social The most blatantly corrupt President in history

I've been plenty critical of the Democrats and Biden, I'm not high on Fauci, but woooo boy, I find statements like these to be comical. Trump and the people around him are so blatantly, nakedly corrupt that it's mind blowing, just straight up like, every time I think we've hit the limits they find new ways to surprise me so I can't take statements like the title of this thread seriously.

Oh geez, this again.

You guys are the ones who live on Twitter, the rest of us don't care about checkmarks on social media sites.

Jack Smith had to reimagine the case to get around the immunity ruling. Which again would protect Baiden here as pardons are exclusive and preclusive powers of the president which SCOTUS has said cannot be even examined as part of another case much less on its own.

Nixon was pardoned in that way by Ford but even still I would argue its a norm violation and not good even if not illegal. Of course Trump cares nothing of norms but Biden was supposed to be the president that upholds them so it makes sense to hold him to a higher standard here.

Great, so you agree people can reimagine cases or whatever to find a way to go after people despite high court rulings and other such things.

So when people find ways to go around these pardons, I hope you support it

Are you intentionally obtuse, or just dumb?

Gee...super hard to figure that one out....same reason he issued the Jan 6th committee members pardons.

Trump is a vindictive man-baby, and Bondi is nothing more than a yes girl, with zero independence.

^^^^ The Democrats abused the American Justice System, but does not trust it unless they can cherry-pick the judge and jury.

You're a hypocrite along with your entire political party on a massive scale.

I don't think you really understand what I'm saying here. The way that Jack Smith got around that immunity ruling is by examining what Trump's personal lawyers did as those interactions were not official and under his capacity as president and so fair game even under the immunity ruling. The same applies to his other co-conspirators in the Jan 6th scheme like the false electors who committed perjury.

But the presidential pardon is without a doubt a preclusive and exclusive power of the president and can't be examined by the courts even as part of another case. Now I wouldn't be surprised if somehow Trump gets them to open an exception there as he has enough lapdogs on the SCOTUS but as of now it would seem unlikely that Joe could be investigated for these pardons.

I don't know that the act has been legally challenged ever. Biden took this to a whole new level. It's brass knuckles to the face of the justice system.

The one with nixon was never challenged. Ford decided to move on from it all, as Nixon was adamant he did nothing wrong and ford didn’t want to fight that. Was an easy clean up process of deep state corruption as they had power after Nixon left.

Trump now assumed power back, which Nixon never did, and they never thought Trump would . I hope Trump keeps up the fight that Nixon couldn’t as he never came back to power to defend himself and his honour.

Trump now has the full force of the government to defend him, and he rightly should unleash them

Does it though? The opening post ITT argues precisely the opposite as do most posters ITT and you seemingly have no issue with that. It was that point that I was addressing and which you seemed to take issue with.

Like I said earlier you don't have a single post in this entire forum criticizing any of Trump's pardons outside the context of criticism of Joe so forgive me if I'm skeptical as to how bothered you really are in regards to Trump's norm breaking.

Why would I keep the same energy instead of addressing each pardon on its own terms? Biden's motivation here is correct but the nature of the pardon is unusual and, despite the precedent of the Ford pardon of Nixon, still represents a kind of norm violation. Of these pardons issued I think only the Jan 6th one is halfway justifiable because Trump is promising to go after then with vigor. Fauci I doubt he cares much about and would allow that promise to fizzle out and Hunter is actually a criminal so it hurts trust to pardon him even if he would be subject to political persecution. But as I said earlier its far more preferable to issue these pardons after the fact instead of in a blanket form. Let Trump try his political prosecution and if he fails he's embarrassed and if he succeeds the next Dem president can pardon his victims.

But whatever my issues with these pardons I'm not going to pretend they're worse than pardoning cronies and mass murderers. Despite apparently agreeing with me you took much umbrage to my posts ITT while completely ignoring the ones you claim to disagree with.
"I'm skeptical as to how bothered you really are in regards to Trump's norm breaking."

Yes, I certainly haven't been bothered by Trump breaking norms. In fact, I'm a secret Trump supporter, and my years-long reign of bashing him openly is merely a cover for my secret agenda. Now that my cover is blown, time to delete this account and create an alt with a new cover.

Yeah... when you realize the scumbags that broke in to the Watergate Hotel were many CIA operatives, it makes us all wonder if getting Nixon out was the actual goal. The break in was never approved or even discussed with Nixon. He didn't need it as he was an easy win. His real problem was the cover up trying to be loyal to people that were not loyal to him.

Doesn't a pardon require an admission of guilt?

In the wake of our first meme coin president these clowns are crying Biden is corrupt for pardons of those trump said he will prosecute

Like I said these people have zero morals and can safely be dismissed.

I don't think you're a Trump supporter but lots of people towards the center have been so desensitized to Trump's norm breaking that they barely bat an eye at it anymore while holding Biden to a higher standard. As I've said that's not entirely unfair, Biden claimed to be a president who would respect norms in contrast to Trump so he asked to be held to a higher standard. But the claim I was addressing, which you seemed to take issue with, is that Biden is more corrupt and divisive than Trump. I don't agree with that and idk why it would bother you to see me argue that if you ostensibly agree.

Exactly. The difference was Trump was willing to deal with the fuck around and find out… large part of that is he is super wealthy and social media, with his reach, changed the media control, etc.

very few people in all history, not just American history would be able to break the system like this.

Now for literally 200 executive orders, including tell 3000 state department and other department officials to pack their bags and fuck off.

Gods works

... and pardons for the entire Biden clan that held all those shell companies that collected millions from: China, Russia, Ukraine, Central America, and parts of the Middle East.

Trump doesn't even try to hide it anymore because he doesn't need to. And corruption on the scale that he's currently engaged in can't be completely hidden anyway so it's done in plain sight. Everyone sees it. Everybody knows it's happening.

It's actually useful because an individual's dedication for reciting that the sky is red when everyone can see that it's blue makes for a good loyalty test.

The Democrats tried to prosecute a criminal..... HOW DARE THEY! Donny should be a multiple criminally convicted felon as a matter of fact, but America gave him a pardon. That doesn't change the reality that Trump is a fountain of corruption and criminal behavior.

Bondi, on the other hand, has failed to prosecute criminals.... ie) Matt "Predator" Gaetz, and Donald Trump via the Trump University scam...I wonder why? Bondi, committed perjury during her confirmation hearing on at least a couple of occasions. But that's your gal? She may not be as big of a joke candidate as Gaetz, but she isn't far off...an absolutely horrible candidate. I don't want to select the candidate, I just want them to not be a corrupt cunt. Is that too much to ask?

Law and Order party, my Aunt Fanny.

As for "Cherry picking" judge and jury...... lol. Don't want to be prosecuted in DC???? Don't comit treason in DC. Don't want to be charged in NY??? Don't perpetrate fraud in NY. Don't want to be prosecuted in Florida.... be white and rich. It worked for Epstein for years, and it's working for Trump right now.

But since you brought it up:
I wonder why so many Maga lawsuits are filed in Texas??? Matthew Kascmaryk perhaps? Hmmmm. This is a common tactic the Repugnantcans have used for decades, and I hope you're ready for the Democats to start pulling the same bullshit, because it's going to be 4 years of filings in front of left leaning judges coming at you. But make no mistake, that is a Republican move, but I suspect the Dems will be stealing that one on a regular basis during the coming apocalypse administration.

Oh, and TS... as for corruption..... you must have LOVED the crypto pump and dump $TRUMP just executed. Right buddy?
Crypto grift Trump has arrived.... keep failing, idiots.

Criticizing Biden for some of these pardons is fair imo but what grinds my gears is the hysterical framing by the TS and the way he tries to use this issue to downplay Trump's corruption. If the thread was merely a criticism of Biden in isolation from Trump that would be perfectly fair but when you explicitly contrast the two you're inviting people to question that.
