The most affected you been at a persons death who you've never met?

Xxxtentacion. I know he's kind of a pos but he was a really troubled kid growing up and made unique music. He really started changing his life for the better and made some intensely emotional music. I always wondered what he would make next as his music was progressing though different emotions. Then he got robbed and murdered at age of 20....

Not going to lie, didn’t expect to that dude mentioned.

Princess Diana , Chester bennington, the wrestler Chris Benoit.

9/11 and the October 1 shooting in Vegas. I live in Sin City and it was just horrible.

Never really let an celeb death bother me too much but.. Cobain stands out the most because I was in high school at the time and can recall the shock so many people were in.

You have to keep in mind, this was a band that was at its absolute heights.. had just released ‘In Utero’ and their ‘MTV Unplugged’ was iconic the day it dropped.. then it was all over instantly. I can still remember how in shock a lot of people were about it. So that really stands out when I think about it.

Ali.
That man was an idol to me n my dad (RIP).

My eyes legit watered (but no drop) on hearing it. Was bummed out all day and showing his HL vids to my mother in law.

That guy jumping straight down, head first off the World Trade Center on 9/11.

That lil kurdish boy who drowned during the migrant crisis in Europe. Hits even harder now that I have a lil boy almost the same age n look. Just laying there face down with his lil hands n feet. Poor baby. (Saw the pic again a few days ago, after a few years, and that was a mistake).

Dale Earnhardt was the first death I remember processing as a kid, he's just gone now? Wasn't even a Nascar fan but remember thinking him and Richard Petty were like superheros from seeing them in commercials

Bourdain and norm made me genuinely sad knowing that their voice is gone forever.

Steve Irwin was a real shitty one too.

Really nice girl on in highschool had her father killed by a drunk driver, never met him but felt terrible for her. Could't get my head around it.

If we don't count chatting over the internet and mean people we never met irl, then this could be it. Really felt down much of that week especially whenever I clicked on one of the threads here.

I remember as a teen when I was really into Avenged Sevenfold I was definitely down when Rev died. But imo there's a big difference between being affected by death as a kid/teen and being affected as an adult. Linkin Park was probably my first "favorite band" growing up and Children of Bodom still is my favorite band, but by the time Chester and Alexi died I was bummed sure, but was mostly like "Figures".

Kobe was pretty tragic too but I think the greater loss was his daughter being robbed of her life before it truly began moreso than Kobe himself (not taking away from his passing in saying this obviously)

Steve Irwin, croc hunter.
still not over it.
i grew up without a father so i liked to imagine how would i have turned out if he was my dad..

Arturo Gatti. Was at the bar with some buddies and saw it pop up on one of the televisions. Absolutely ruined me.

I don't give two shits about celebrities. I was very unlucky and dealt with death of friends very early in life.

I don't know most affected but I remember most recently I shed a tear for this sherdogger's wife that died from cancer. It was a bit odd but I legitimately felt sad.

I've heard worse stories about what people do to kids in the past. For some reason, this one just made me really upset when I read it.

Shit like this makes me wish against what I believe. I hope hat there's a place where this little guy is ok.

Hans Nijman from Fighting Network RINGS

I always liked him and was so happy when Hiromitsu Kanehara brought him back to wrestle Minoru Suzuki in 2013. Then, a year later, he was murdered.

When I read about what happened to Judith Barsi - little girl who played Ducky in The Land Before Time series, I was super pissed off!

Killed by her abusive, jealous, father in a murder-suicide, along with her mother. The p.o.s. shot her in the head while she slept. She broke down on set once and exhibited clear indicators of abuse
The CPS system and her mom (who refused to leave) all failed her.

God, people suck.

When Michael Jackson died I went out and danced from 10PM to 5AM. One of the best nights of my life.

Andy Whitfield.

We were (around) the same age when he died (31-32ish), so his sudden death was probably the first moment as an adult where I felt the reality of my mortality.
