Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

Coming off the hot new release of KSE's new album I remembered how incredible this EP was so damn good better than most of the songs that actually made the album (Atonement)

Looks like Mastodon has Uncle Ben (Ben Eller) filling in. Crazy fucking opportunity for him as he is a massive fan and a killer player. No idea if he will be the permanent replacement though. I wouldn't mind.

Probably won't be permanent, but he is the go to for fill ins, i know he's helped Whitechapel (as well as guest solos on a couple of albums) and Unearth

That is a wild speculation. He stepped in on short notice and killed it why wouldn't they at least try him out for the next tour? That is likely what they will do and then feel things out from there but I doubt he's one and done.

I didn't realise their next tour is basically 6 weeks or so away so I would love for Ben to get that run at the very least I've been a fan of his for years especially the dedication of learning 17 songs very quickly

I agree and should have pointed out that the next tour was so soon. I kinda think it's gonna come down to whether Ben wants to do it full time or not moreso than Mastodon not thinking he's a good fit. It would be a huge lifestyle change for Ben and the road can be brutal even in big bands. So I think it's gonna depend more on what he wants to do but I do hope he does that tour like 25 dates or something to feel it out. Wild speculation I know right! lol

Also one more thing to point out is that he also has to do Brent's vocal parts so that could play a factor in that regard he may not fit. I couldn't really hear his vocals in that live vid but it's a two part gig guitar and vocals and I doubt they will just eliminate Brent's songs from the setlist. Time will tell I guess. I hope he's the new permanent guy.

Love the arrangements and harmonic\melodic lines in the tunes present on this album by Polish HM-psych band Sautrus

New Warbringer drop. More of a Black Metal vibe with this one.

Weird this didn't show up on my YT algo...not bad nothing groundbreaking with these new tunes they sound like they could have wrote them ten years ago.

Yeah I gotta be honest, so far with the 3 tracks they've released... their good songs and I dig all of them, they just haven't wow'ed me yet. Just standard Warbringer songs. Probably killer live. I'm hoping we get some more crushing tracks on the rest of the album. Some real pit stirrers is what I need.

New Warbringer album dropped today, and I got the pit churning track I was wanting:

The audio sounds better on spotify than this youtube link.

Straight fucking THRASH. Love it. Can't wait to hear live.

@HHJ

Have you heard Phil Anselmo's black metal band "Scour" crazy to hear him do these vocals he's actually really good with it

I like Phil and think he's a great vocalist w anything he sets his mind to do, but never got into this band musically.

Partly cos theres just nothin original in the music and I also saw them live and it was pretty sloppy and Phil had a lyric sheet hahahahah

So the level of dedication just isnt there.

I love Down though. The first Down album is incredible.

This isnt metal but its a great showcase of Phil's voice
