@HHJ
Have you heard Phil Anselmo's black metal band "Scour" crazy to hear him do these vocals he's actually really good with it
Looks like Mastodon has Uncle Ben (Ben Eller) filling in. Crazy fucking opportunity for him as he is a massive fan and a killer player. No idea if he will be the permanent replacement though. I wouldn't mind.
That is a wild speculation. He stepped in on short notice and killed it why wouldn't they at least try him out for the next tour? That is likely what they will do and then feel things out from there but I doubt he's one and done.Probably won't be permanent, but he is the go to for fill ins, i know he's helped Whitechapel (as well as guest solos on a couple of albums) and Unearth

I agree and should have pointed out that the next tour was so soon. I kinda think it's gonna come down to whether Ben wants to do it full time or not moreso than Mastodon not thinking he's a good fit. It would be a huge lifestyle change for Ben and the road can be brutal even in big bands. So I think it's gonna depend more on what he wants to do but I do hope he does that tour like 25 dates or something to feel it out. Wild speculation I know right! lolI didn't realise their next tour is basically 6 weeks or so away so I would love for Ben to get that run at the very least I've been a fan of his for years especially the dedication of learning 17 songs very quickly
