Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

I saw Soulfly a few months back with Metal Mike DeLeon on guitar and they fucking killed it. I'm more of an old Sepultura fan than Soulfly but that was a fun show. I'm all for him doing projects with his brother, now I'll get to see Morbid Visions live.

I saw Warbringer in San Francisco last night that show was one of the wildest Ive been to. I got to catch John Kevill stage diving after the end of their set. Hatriot and Frolic opened up and had a crazy pit, wall of death, and even rowing LOL.
Yeah it's great that Max and Igor settled their beef. Cavelera Conspiracy is fucking great. imo

I gotta check out more Warbringer they are pretty much just straight up oldschool trash aren't they?

Take a load of this 43 track Season of Mist comp. of v/a metal acts including Cloak, Black Anvil, Sylvaine, etc. :):) .....on BC.

Ya sorry meant to get back to you. As you stated most of their stuff is straight up oldschool Thrash, which is right up my alley. The two latest albums are a bit more dynamic with some other influences. They played "Defiance Of Fate" off the latest album the other night for the first time live it was amazing and a good breather between all of the carnage. "Worlds Torn Asunder" is another great album from them. My favorite of their earlier ones.

I saw Mr Bungle last night with Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo, so heavy! Sold out Fox Theater in Oakland on a Tuesday.

This Sunday I have Kreator/Sepultura with Death Angel opening. So many shows going on right now I hope I don't burn myself out.

I'll give that a listen I think I will prefer the later stuff. I like bands with a mix in style more than just one straight genre but it depends on the band i guess older bands will get a pass for that sort of thing. All the Warbringer stuff i heard had some black metal and hardcore influences in it but mainly thrash and i liked that.

I'm so jelly I can't get anyone to go to a show.. Need more metalhead friends i guess. I have a few buds into metal but they just don't want to go. smh

There’re opening a metal festival I’ll attend in june. Which is pretty good news actually.
Crazy how it blew up Blackbraid is a one man project and the guy had no real plans to tour just wanted to put these songs out for people to hear but i guess there was enough fan demand to put a band together (he said just some of his buddies) and take it out on the road.

Good interview explaining it all.

It’s a festival in France so it did blow up indeed :)

I've been a bit spoiled both by being in an area that has a strong local scene with a lot of shows to go to if you like Heavy music, and I've made friends that are just as interested in seeing shows.

Here's the best way to experience Warbringer, the show last Saturday "Living Weapon":
