Just wrapped up watching all of those episodes this weekend. I wasn't going to watch but then I saw the Luke moment. I liked it a lot more than the first season.

I'm pretty much Star Wars'ed out thanks to the new trilogy and honestly didn't understand the hype of the first season. It was well done but it just felt kinda boring and I really didn't care about the Mandalorian character. Season 2 opens up a bit more and while there were 1 or 2 filler episodes, most had something interesting happen.

I'm really big on practical effects and it really blows me away how much they do with puppets and models. Really mind blowing stuff for a TV show and it fits the aesthetic of the original Star Wars more than any of the movies or prequels. They nailed it. Plus, you get to see a lot of interesting races and things you'd never expect to see. I loved seeing the Sand People team up to fight the Krayt Dragon and their perspective. I didn't really like the Bo Katan side plot or characters but I also didn't watch Clone Wars so none of that meant anything to me. Also so I didn't watch Clone Wars, Ahsoka was new to me but I really enjoyed her episode and character. Excellent cinematography in the episode.

Bill Burr's episode also really stood out and I loved Mando having to take his helmet off to scan his face and then sitting through an awkward conversation. Finally, the Luke moment at the end. For all of the Luke fans that felt completely disrespected by what the new movies did, we got our hero moment in the last episode. Yes, it sucks that it had to be CG but I thought it looked pretty good and was certainly miles ahead of the Princess Leia CG in Rogue One. The music as he mowed down the Dark Troopers was awesome and the scene basically (and I think intended) was the parallel version of the Vader scene from Rogue One. Excellent stuff.

Honestly, I think this should have been the end of the show. Mando accomplished his mission and you could bring him back in another spinoff show to meet a fully trained and grown Grogu. Season 3 is going to be grasping for ideas and feels like it's going to have a lot of filler and make it up as they go along.

P.S. Gina is fat.
Shes the good kind of fat.

Im ok with this ending the show too.

Is there a more dangerous combination than Kennedy and D&D?

Talk about the gold standard for pissing off the fans.

Well, D and D did deliver those 4 top notch seasons, yes they had ASOFAI books but even so, not everyone can deliver the kind of adaption they did for 4 years. As for Kennedy, yeah, she screwed up the sequels, but Lucas hand picked her and Lucas himself bunged the prequels... at this point, Kennedy was technically in charge when Mando came out, which was better than both the prequels and sequels, and we all have to reckon with it

Yeah that's what I'm saying. We don't need her to be a good actor. No one in a Star Wars production is going to be getting a call from the Academy any time soon. She's a shit actor, and I like it that way. Did I mention I'd lick her butthole?
You cant. That shit is mine! Id raise a rebellion right now but i dont wanna cos you know your buttholes kid

Don't forget, "flying" is so expensive as to not be realistic. I mean, only a moisture farmer on a super wealthy planet like Tatooine could afford something as rare, expensive, and uber sophisticated, as a repulsorlift landspeeder.

Only a truly wealthy slave podracer, or successful crime lords like Jabba could afford repulsorlift vehicles.

[Note that this ^^^ barge is sufficiently sized to transport Rhydonium.]

[or to be the "train" engine to pull many smaller "cars"]

Hover barges were so inexpensive they were used as trash trucks by the Scrapper Guild. And the Bantha-II skiffs were so cheap (8,000 new, 3,000 used) that they were used for ots of different things. "Like many other skiffs, the Bantha-II was designed to transport cargo and was common in most spaceports and warehouses on many planets across the galaxy." and "The average Bantha-II was able to carry around 100 tons or cargo" and "could also be easily modified to suit local conditions on a planet. Among the most common of these many modifications to the original design was the installment of an enclosed deck and pilot station which protected both the passengers and crew from the elements, whether heat, cold, rain or pollution, and are resiliant to lava damage."

"Due to its cheap price tag, Ubrikkian was able to sell many of its Bantha-IIs to even the poorest or most under-developed of worlds where they were used both as cargo and as passenger transports."

So a cheap, widely available, vehicle designed and used for cargo transport all across the galaxy but because someone offended @Myrddin Wild by giving their honest opinion of her crap acting abilities, he's thrown a hissy fit.

And technologically advanced races like the Verpine

Verpine20.jpg

used them to move huge asteroids around.

But Myrddin says: There's just no way the Empire could afford it!

source.gif

Well, maybe they weren't even aware of the technology! I mean, it's not like they used repulsorcraft at other bases.... oh wait.... the Moff Gideon led Imperial base on Nevarro had some, like the Trexler Marauder that Carl and Gina used to escape just a few episodes ago....

the-mandalorian-season-2-episode-4-the-siege-concept-art-008-1246138.jpeg

And even IF they could afford them, they probably require years of training to even operate!

As for the assertion that the technology wouldn't work on a larger vessel, the Core Ship used repulsorlift units and those ships were 696-914 meters tall and could hold 60,000+ passengers along with 66,000,000 cubic meters of cargo along with supplies for 3 years. But Myrddin says that a repulsorlift vehicle "could handle the load"?

But yeah, nothing to see here! No plot holes and certainly it's NOT OK for anyone to question ANYTHING! If you do, or if you have a differing opinion, you risk offending @Myrddin Wild

[I'll just add my opinion that Gina is an absolute SHIT actress. Like slightly above middle schooler level - think mediocre high school level - "actress".]

<{cum@me}>
holy sweet jaysis

I can never watch star wars again!@!!!!!

This has probably been discussed before but is Baby Yoda the cause of the empire gaining strength in the shitty sequels (not that it makes them better)?

Baby Yoda seemed to have more power when he was scared. Maybe the empire kidnapped him again down the road and Luke blamed himself - that’s why he started drinking the alien milk.

Its just speculation at this point, but Kathleen basing them with 'There's no source material or 800 page books!' (which backfired in her face) tells me some shit went down between them behind the scenes.

And if Disney was more concerned about the goodwill from fans, they'd fire Kathleen Kennedy and fully remove any speculation of exactly the extent of her influence in LucasFilm.
The contrast betw her huge failures vs. F&F's huge universally loved Mandalorian is huge. At some point, the board of directors need to ask why are they paying her big bucks to fuck things up.

Maybe Baby Grogu was lazy and only wanted to play with joystick balls and eat cookies and his force powers deteriorated, so wasn't motivated to help fight the First Order.

Wow, what a finale.

I don't know how I managed to stay out of this thread since Thursday midnight through till 8pm last night. Also, I read that this was heavily spoiled on social media but I didn't catch that anywhere.

We definitely got our Vader/Rogue One closing sequence with this parallel. The CGI was off for sure but it was the Luke that every 40-55 year old fan deserved and had been waiting for, for 30 years, but didn't get with lactating Luke from TLJ.

With Dinn taking his mask off and giving Grogu permission to go with him, I was tearing up so hard. I was happy to see Pedro get a chance to show his acting ability there (did Gina also tear up a bit?). I couldn't tell if it was R2's excitement to meet Grogo or it was excitement to see him again. If the latter, is there a chance that it was R2 that saved Grogu in ROTS?

I was a big defender of Giancarlo's Moff Gideon, but in the end he really came off here as a third rate villain, especially with what we know (or don't know) about Thrawn. I really hope he gets to show his acting ability in the next season and they push his scum and villainy up a few levels. He is a fantastic actor but he was a mostly subdued plot necessity in this movie. (though he did look good in his fight scene in the end).

Please bring in Sebastian Stan for young Luke. Mary Elizabeth Winstead needs to come in as Leia. Shaquille O'neal needs to come in as Shoebacca.

Thank God or someone for Favreau and Filoni.

As someone else said, Disney should literally proclaim those three piles of shit non-canon.

When Luke Skywalker showed up on “The Mandalorian,” it certainly looked a lot like the Jedi we know and love. And we’d recognize Mark Hamill’s voice a mile away. But the actual in-the-flesh actor was Max Lloyd-Jones. Let us introduce you.

Although the London-born thespian isn’t a household name, he has a pretty solid resume, including “Adventures in Baby-Sitting,” “The Sandlot,” “iZombie,” “Switched at Birth” and “Project Blue Book.” And perhaps most interestingly, he’s credited for the role of Blue Eyes, a.k.a. the chimpanzee in “War for the Planet of the Apes.” That’s a pretty high-profile CGI-based role, so it makes sense as to why Lucasfilm might have turned to him to do some CGI acting for one of their most famous Jedis.

I could have went without boba fighting to a draw with Sasha banks lmfao that was a little heartbreaking but that’s my only gripe about the finale.

That threw me off too, but didn't necessarily mean it would have went to a draw. I thought it was just to show Koska was no pushover and wouldn't get one punch KOed by Boba. They did the same thing with Ahsoka and Mando's brief fight - Mando defended her attacks and drove her back with his ropes and flamethrower but everyone knows Mando goes home in a bodybag if that played out to finish.

But yeah makes Boba out like a plebe if they meant to imply he and Koska were evenly matched.

This season was excellent. The last episode in particular was very well done, I could have went without boba fighting to a draw with Sasha banks lmfao that was a little heartbreaking but that’s my only gripe about the finale.

The first episode, and the last 3 episodes were the best of the bunch IMO.

I also really enjoyed the sequels, I know it’s trendy to say how bad they are and how they ruined Star Wars but I’ve enjoyed all 9 movies as well as Rogue one and solo ( Rogue One was better than solo tho ) and sure some may be better than others but I like them all. I remember people trashing the Prequel trilogy for 10 years but now they act like they were good and the Sequel trilogy is terrible lol hardcore SW elitists are the worst tbh... just enjoy all things SW
The prequel trilogy still sucks but compared to the last three they are a masterpiece

Bring him in as one of Luke's Jedi students!! Also he looks like he might have molested Adam Driver and turned him bad

Same. Gideon isn't very compelling unfortunately
I really liked him,the conflict with him was just over too quick. He will probably be back anyway.

In name only. Jon Favereau coming on was Bob Iger’s doing. And Jon pretty much is free from KK’s influence.

Ouch, I knew it was a matter of time before someone did it better. As you can see, the eyes make it better along with better mouth movement.
