Got Dayum

What a ride.

I'll spoiler tag this season for hespect reasons.

In no order

Thrawn....bitches leave..while working as a plumber's helper over 2 decades ago , some massive ginger jock metalhead loaned his Heir to The Empire novel to the #2's kid to get me back into Star Wars with so much love for the OG Grand Admiral

Luke being the badass we all wanted

Ashoka, Darksaber , and all the Clone Wars and Rebels tie-ins

Boba Fett returning to glory.

Baby Yoda

Discussing the series, explaining stuff and finally watching the finale with my 11 year old son and crew who range from 3-18 years younger than 39 year old me and seeing the joy on their faces

Still kind of bothered how the CGI was very Henry Caville moustache level.

Why couldn't they make it better?

TV budget. Though I wonder if they use Mark the actor for the part and de-age the way the Irishman did for De Niro ahd Pasci, I wonder if the result would be better.

Just watched the finale. Managed go the entire day without seeing spoilers.

That was fucking amazing.

Disney needs to decanonize the ST, recanonize the EU and let Favreau take over the franchise. That's the only responsible course from a business perspective.

I've been waiting 25 years since I started reading EU novels to see a depiction of Luke post-ROTJ who'd grown into his powers. That's what I thought that we were getting with the ST.
I want to rant about Rian Johnson, but I'm going to rewatch the episode instead.

Really good episode. Almost excellent buy the cgi bright kt down a solid 2 or 3 notches.

They should have just used a different actor or something. That was totally unbelievable.

Really, really good episode tho. Seeing Mando look beatable when the dark trooper kicked his ass was overdue. I'd have loved to have seen more scenes of Mando getting busted up and grogu healing him, rather than Mando just being unbeatable. Seeing Mando struggle with a single dark trooper and then watching Luke hack them all down with ease was a great way of showing how the jedi are levels above even mandalorians in fighting ability.

Now that Mando holds the Black Saber, Books Tan if she not dead will tell him it time to raise the Mandolins back to their glory. I could see it with Mando and her fighting about how to do it but the story is right there with Mando already bringing the Mandolins out of hiding in season one and now that his has the Dark Saber it only Natural. I could see a 2-3 season of just trying to gain enough supporters by helping out this planet and that planet and letting the Mandolins rep get bigger and bigger and Boka Tan saying they just need to wipe the empire out order will begin in their favor. Til they fight each other.

I want a 3 million for that

I don't see the Children of the Watch following Din. He's removed his helmet and broke the creed they follow. As for the rest of the clans that may have survived, they already swore fealty to Bo Katan no matter who has the Dark Saber. And if Filoni remembers his own story he wrote, there should be no need for trial by combat for ownership of it.

I'm glad that Disney has invested in 3 more "Volume" LED Virtual Environments. Should make making the shows easier and the technology should increase.

I just finished the entirety of Season 2 tonight after hearing the spoilers as they happened over the last two months, including this morning's, and it didn't hamper my enjoyment.

The Pros - The awesome guest stars :

*Timothy Olyphant - Playing what he plays best as, a Sherriff. Doesn't matter if its in the 1800s, modern-day, or in a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away. He always nails it.

*Sasha Banks & Gina Carano - I think Disney finally figured out if you have a 'kick-ass female role' to fill, its best to find actresses that have experience in real-life so its far more believable. And both of these ladies nailed it.

BTW, I always thought Sasha Banks wasn't given the respect she deserved in WWE and she has the potential to be a much bigger star in other areas of entertainment. With this role, hopefully it will open up additional possibilities, although recently it seems like she's getting the respect she deserves, finally, in WWE. They did use her real name in the credits.

*Bill Burr - Nailed it, as always.

*Temuera Morrison as Bobba Fett. Its always feels awesome to see an actor come back to a franchise after nearly two decades to knock it out of the park.

*Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon. It feels odd that I'm praising acting performances in Star Wars because they're historically bad, but there's no question that Giancarlo was perfectly cast for this role that he knocks out of the park. The other roles don't quite require a huge range of emotion for the character, which are mostly 1-dimensional... which includes Moff Gideon... but at least they cast an actor that is so damn good at being so damn bad that it doesn't really matter that we don't really know why he's so bad.

Katee Sakoff as Bo-Katan - It must be a rare occasion that a voice actress that played a role for YEARS behind a microphone later plays the role in live-action, and Katee did pretty well with it. *Thumbs Up*

*Saving the best for last.... Rosario Dawson as Ashoka Tano. In the same vein as Katee Sakoff bringing her character to live action very well, there was so many ways how Disney could have royally fucked that attempt up for Ahsoka... but they came pretty damn close to nailing it with casting Rosario Dawson for the part. Only a few complaints from me about her skin being overly orange, and her 'hair' looking too much like a cheap cosplay costume. Otherwise, she nailed it.

Overall, the two HUGE CONS I have for this season is the 2nd episode... it was just filler. Not even the fun kind of filler, but the 'wow, this was a waste of time to watch' kind of killer. Easily the worst episode of the 2 seasons.

And... if Disney HAD to do a deepfake couldn't they have at least done a better job that that? I've seen better deepfakes made by fans on the internet. Leia and Tarkin's deepfakes in Rogue One were so much better. Can't believe they didn't put much effort into the return of one of the most beloved characters in Star Wars history.

I'm not saying it caused the moment to suck, but it did hamper the epicness of the moment.

Solid 9/10.

If they really wanted to, they can make it happen. Just continue with the Snoke clone angle but ignore Ep. 7-9. They can even accelerate Snoke's growth in a couple of years and have him face off prime Luke.

Nah, hopefully anything and everything related to the sequel trilogy is completely ignored.

The Mandolorian and all the new Star Wars Disney+ shows should be their own continuity after Ep6.

Suck it, woke feminazi's.

This episode seems to do more for girls, ladies and women by accident just by trying to be a good show instead of starting with a pre-conceived agenda with the Rei, Finn and Poe trilogy.

edit- although I have noted that there seems to be slight of hand direction of making sure there are enough prominent lady characters onscreen.

One last Con I'd like to add - The Dark Troopers, kinda.

I liked the concept, but if they wanted Terminators in Star Wars they could have found ways to make it less obvious they wanted Terminators in Star Wars, and they could have shown them as being more threatening by actually killing something.

And, a bit of a jab against the actors in the final episode, if there was a platoon of those seemingly indestructible force bashing the doors into murder everyone in the room... all those characters should have been a bit more fearful of their ultimate demise. It was as if they were waiting for the deus ex machina to save them and... oh look, an X-Wing!

The whole show from the beginning has been full of 'strong female characters' without it being forced.

*Cara Dune - former rebel fighter, bounty hunter, and now law enforcer.
*Ashoka Tano - Female Jedi.
*Fennec Shand - Bounty hunter aligned with Boba Fett.
*Bo-Katan - Leader of a clan of the toughest warriors in the galaxy, the Mandolorians.
*Koshka Reeves - Bo-Katan's right hand warrior.

If somebody told me that a female pro-wrestler would have a role in a Star Wars show in which she does a spinning DDT on Boba Fett I would have said 'Oh shit, this is not going to do down well with fans, at all.' But I haven't heard a single complaint about it all day on social media, in fact its been overwhelmingly positive!

So why has this show's 'Strong female characters' been embraced while the sequel trilogy's 'strong female characters' been rejected? Simple. Characterization and no social agendas. At no point do the male characters feel 'talked down to,' the women are equals in this world, as they are in ours. They have backgrounds and goals that explain why they are as tough as they are.

This show says 'Hey, to all the Disney-reps that called fans sexist and lived in their parents basements for pointing out Rey is a Mary Sue? Go fuck yourselves.'

Nothing in the SW universe can fuck with a fully trained Jedi other than a fully trained SITH. Forget the prequels.
A Jedi knight let alone a master will wreck you and your world up. Star Wars was only about two things,
The FORCE and the FORCE WIELDER and what they did with it.

Luke’s lineage goes directly back to the GOAT heavy weights such as Yoda, Qui Gon Jin, and Obi Wan Kenobi. You ain’t fucking with a Jedi!

I love this post.

As long as KK is at the helm, she will never allow her work to be undone.
She was listed as one of the "Executive Producers" in the end credits of the finale.
That's the thing... there's a theory that she's there, collecting a paycheck, and doing that lame announcement of future SW series and projects... but she has little to no influence on 'The Mandolorian' at least. That's strictly Filoni's and Favreau's project, as evidence of its high quality and complete lack of social politics.

There's no way this can be confirmed, unless someone behind the scenes blabs openly about it.
