just saw ep 4 with carano

she is so heavy she can punch his incredible armor with bare fists and hurt him

the swamp folk had a harder time with the imperial walker than the ewoks did
trip ropes and log traps! duh

i like the show but it was a fairly lame episode

also, mando talks like chuck liddell

partly cuz bryce dallas howard directed it?

Seems like this was a longer episode but it still felt too short. For everything they tried to do in this episode it still felt rushed compared to the other episodes which held it back imo.

Also, I’m not sure why people are surprised by the format this is taking. It’s a traditional tv show. It’s about Mando and Baby Yoda going from place to place and getting in new adventures in each episode. The overarching plot is of course that Baby Yoda is being hunted and Mando needs to protect him but each episode is its own contained plot. Works well for this type of genre.

Anyway, not the best episode but still enjoyed it quite a bit.

This episode was definitely a homage to seven samurai.

Traditional, but with Netflix, Amazon they have long moved past "traditional". That episodic a-team/hawaii 5-0/star trek different story every week is a bit.. eighties...

I think a modern audience wants more, and can deal with having a single story arc spread over 10 episodes. This last episode made me feel like i was watching a shitty episode of starsky and hutch..

Just posting here wondering if the question about "how a mando has sex if they wear their helmet all the time?" has come up yet.
I don't think Mando's pee pee is inside his helmet. I think he's humanoid.

is this show good?

i dont like woke shit and dont really care for star wars, but I like sci fi.
Everyone's going bananas over how they like it. You care about what happens to Mando and Baby Yoda. IG-11 was good too.

I almost felt like Ep 4's widow wanted to make a HBO adult scene w/Mando.

Nobody likes that bumplop.

Mandalorian is good, solid, space western. Enough Star Wars lore to keep us happy, and an interesting angle to the canon. I’m don’t recall it being particularly “woke”, though I am starting to wonder if Mando isn’t a bit of a sap. For a battle-hardened tough guy, he’s certainly very sentimental and sympathetic. But y’know - flamethrowers and disintegration will always have my interest.
Mando's like a lucky loser. He's not ultra competent cold killer. He needed his ass being saved multiple times.

My only issue with this episode, unless I missed something, so explain away if I did....was they just pushed back the marauders

Cara Dune and Mando discuss that word will get out and hinting that blowback will be coming for their mini rebellion

But Mando was gonna leave Baby with them knowing a pushback or something may be coming?

Either way, he’s off again with Baby and hopefully meeting MingNa Wen next?
You'd think Mando would have some rocket launcher or grenades for dealing with the AT-ST. I'm probably going to like Ming Na Wen's character much more than chubby Cara Dune with the supermarket mom flabby arms.

You'd think Mando would realize the importance of Baby Yoda if bad guy pays big reward to get him and would leave him somewhere where they at least have a competent army to defend the village.

Meh hard to say, If it’s a tie-in then it’s a huge stretch, maybe a ‘cloning” or something will be mentioned. They’re not skipping ahead 30+ years

Season 2 is being worked on now
Was it an insider who said the first episode would have a big impact on Rise of Skywalker?

Baby Yoda will be 30 years older by the time the next movie comes out. Wouldn’t bet against him making a cameo.
He'll still be a toddler talking mumbo jumbo and picking his nose and eating the boogers.

Yeah, that’s what all these new shows have become. As I said, it fits this genre very well imo. It’s a different approach than everyone else is doing and I think it’s refreshing.

but do you guys like the last jedi? thats the real barometer.

I thought Episodes VII and VIII were both a pile of shite. Im not sure I will even watch IX

but, I thought Rogue One was brilliant and I loved Solo as well.

Episode 1 was amazing, episode 2 was good, episode 3 was ok..

episode 4 was tired, cliched, disney shit. Was like watching a bad episode of planet of the apes.

Carano's character had zero backstory, the village was stupid, the attempted love story nonsense, and the battle scene was crap.

Its gone downhill pretty quickly for me.

And why does Mando think he is Reese from Person Of Interest?
I mean, she actually discussed her back story with the mandalorian so maybe you missed that part?
Reese and Mando are similar in that they have dark pasts but almost inadvertently end up on a path to redemption.

Weakest episode by a good margin. I remember watching the last episode where Mando and Jon Faverau started punching each other and I was like "youre both wearing tanks for clothes, wtf is a fist gonna do?". Then this episode Gina is punching him down with basically mma gloves and I was a little bit like "C'mon now, stop it".

So, sorry if this has been discussed already....

So the Mandalorian isn't actually a Mandalorian? He's adopted?
