I don't understand how you can ran out of materials with a Star Wars series that they need to do a filler episode. Directed by Bryce Dallas Howard. It almost went into a Before Sunset romantic-drama route. Fuck.
I can get behind this. Definitely a filler episode. And as @Clippy said, on that Star Trek vibe. Although, I have seen similar filler in Clone Wars and Rebels.
What made it acceptable to me was that even though they didn’t advance the main plot, they fleshed out the growing bond between Yodaling and Mando. The button sequence at the start had me in tears, because my little niece is the same fucking way. Too damn young and cute to get mad at.
As previously stated, I’m on Cara Dune’s war wagon. Gina did a decent job introducing her character. The fight sequence was decent with maybe the exception of the rag doll punch.
My main gripe Is only how quickly the villagers became fighting fit in such a small amount of time, but then again, it’s a 1/2 hour filler. So your mileage may vary with that trope.
Excellent way to show he does in fact eat and take his helmet off. I’m still iffy on the protocol though, only because Rebels is canon, and Mandos did show their faces in it with no ill consequences. We are definitely gonna need some more elaboration on it.
