If the rumors are true there will be clone play in Episode 9 ... so this could be part of cloning things. I think they somehow cloned Yoda and are trying to extract his medichlorians or something and further build cloning shenanigans into ep 9

Maybe it's part of Palps plan, to clone yoda and drink his powers or some shit

Man I know they basically threw a bunch of lore and backstory into the trash, but I swear I remember playing Star Wars bounty hunter and them referring to jango as mandalorian

Well for a start, it removes any connection between the OG Clone Troopers and the Mandalorians.

There's still a connection, and it's with actual Mandalorians. The cloners of Kamino hired elite Mandalorian warriors to train some of their clones. Some Mandalorians even fought alongside them during the war.

Armour is often passed down from father to son. But Boba is able to obtain a set without being Mandalorian himself?

I'm confident we'll see more of Boba's story in TCW. Just remember not all Mandalorian armor is Beskar. I actually get your frustration though. Legends did a nice job with the Mandalorian connection. Unfortunately, outside of Legends the connection is rather weak imo.

I don't have the same strong urge to watch this ASAP after seeing the episodes are around 30 min each. I'll wait until Dec 2 to see if there's a new Apple TV hardware first. I saw a reddit post that said Disney+ won't work with Apple Lightning HDMI cable.

It kinda works in to the theme of Boba wearing things from his kills like the wookie braids.

Not sure if not being mandalorian makes him less or more badass, a guy running around with the armor of the guy he killed would make him a target of these warriors, but they didnt or couldnt mess with him.

Im also not sure if the Mandalorian series will make Boba more or less popular, this new character is doing all the things Boba did in the EU (and in the head of fans), but to this point never did in the main films.

A big win this show has in my books is that it doesn't really connect with anything. It's totally offshoot side characters that just happen to live in the same world. Jango and Bobba don't need to be Manndalorian. And I would rather they both stayed out of this show.
