THE LION KING (First Reactions)

Looks cool but Disney very well might overplay its hand and oversaturate the market. Three live action adaptations of animated classics in a six-month period? Overly ambitious? Cash grab? You tell me.

It's tough though cause Burton's sensibilities seem ideal for Dumbo and Guy Richie could very well have made a fun Aladdin film and Favreu is a proven damn solid director so you very well might have three worthy films. Still the close succession of them makes me think that Disney is rushing to churn these out in a way that might backfire.

I don't think its a reach to say that Disney is killing is movie industry

But I still hate the consumers more. Consumers are brain dead sheeple who are ignorant to many things

I really don't understand why people complain about remakes like this.
The original movie came out in 1994. This movie comes out in 2019. That's over 20 years.
It's not being made for our old asses. These live action/CGI movies don't erase the originals.
It's also kind of silly to expect entirely new themes and movies--especially when dealing with children's movies, and especially considering how many movies come out in a year.
There is still plenty of original stuff coming out.

Imagine watching this shit on ACID... lucky kids these days

Lion King is one of the GOATS. WIll definitely watch this, possibly while high.

Live action or just CGI with live action models?

Seems like a cheap ploy to bring in a new generation. At least train the damned, slave animals to do this shit

This will be merged with the official thread after a while.

no Jeremy Irons. Will not watch.

jk, it still looks awesome. Still pissed they didnt ask Irons to reprise his role. He was just as good as Jones' Musafa.
Also to people complaining about why this was made- this remake is more justifiable than the countless of other remakes and sequels Hollywood pumps out. Plus it will basically print cash.

Why is it more justifiable?

Jungle Book sure since that movie had terrible animation but Lion King still holds up extremely well

because this new one looks amazing. I was skeptical until I saw it and now I'm a believer.

Wouldn't call The Thing a remake

A remake of what? The Thing from Another World doesn't follow the plot of Who Goes There?.

The Thing From Another World and The Thing are very very different films

I know CGI is very difficult to pull off and its impressive today what studios can develop, but give me those older animated movies which were equally as hard to pull off and with so much more style and creativity and passion.

Just rehashing the same movies in a computer does nothing for me.

This looks badass. Lol at a bunch of old geezers complaining itt.

Can't wait for this. Lion King is the GOAT Disney film. That last scene at the end of the trailer, amazing!

All that the light touches is yours.....is what I say every time I open the fridge for a midnight snack
