It's going to be a live-action/CG movie similar to Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book (2016).Live action? Like a stage show? Or are they going to use real lions?
Noted. Will try to do that next time.Prefer to see mention at the top of the post you call us in on... about whether it's animated or not... on thingz like this that could possibly be animated or maybe some other form of art like a play or Lion king on ice... or whatever. (Edit: I see the OP says "live action"... it's just a lot of confusion to call us in & have to figure it all out.)
Much love for what Brother Dragon bringz to the table... keeping us "in the know" on hollywood... but I'm just requesting that if there's a question in there... lets mention that at the top of a post... so we know what we're working with. I had to read the target post twice... & still thought it was animated, until I eventually scrolled up to read the OP. This isn't the first time. It's real easy to add the word "animated" to the post is all I'm saying.
She has a decent voice for voiceover work. My fear is they'll have her sing and that's just bad.I loved Lion King. Bringing in Beyonce annoys me though. I mean...based on fucking what?? Name value? Lazy choice imo.
Jon Favreau to Direct Disney's Live-Action/CG Film THE LION KING

Disney’s animated classic The Lion King is the latest movie that will be re-imagined as a live-action/CG project.
Disney is reteaming with Jon Favreau, the filmmaker who brought to life The Jungle Book, for a 21st century take on the tale, which Disney has fast-tracked to production, the studio announced.
“The Lion King builds on Disney’s success of reimagining its classics for a contemporary audience with films like Maleficent, Cinderella and The Jungle Book,” the company said on its website. “The upcomingBeauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson as Belle, is already one of the most anticipated movies of 2017. Like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King will include songs from the animated film.”
The new take won’t be live-action per se but will definitely look it. Favreau will build on what he accomplished with Jungle Book – using a real child actor and bringing to life the jungle and its animals via cutting edge technology and a green-screen set in a Los Angeles studio.
'The Lion King' Live-Action Movie in the Works from Disney and Jon Favreau
Money. Lots of money. They're going to remake all of the animated movies. So they're doing a CGI Lion King? Why do that? Am I the only one who thinks the cartoon is fine as is? I mean, more realistic isn't necessarily better. Nobody looks at a Picasso and says "pffff, he put the mouth in the wrong spot. It doesn't even look like a person."

I'm happy that James Earl Jones and his epic voice is still alive to do this.
