Social The left are getting desperate (Candace Owens)

"When we say nationalism, the first thing people think about, at least in America, is Hitler. He was a national socialist," Owens said in the video. "If Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well, OK, fine. The problem is he wanted, he had dreams outside of Germany. He wanted to globalize, he wanted everybody to be German, everybody to be speaking German, everybody to look a different way. To me, that’s not nationalism. So in thinking about how it could go bad down the line, I don’t really have an issue with nationalism, I really don’t."

That's her quote, basically empty statement saying if Hitler wasn't Hitler it would be ok and if he just focused on what he did in Germany it would be fine which Is false.

What Hitler did in his country was horrendous, he didn't just want to make Germany great again, his racist nationalistic views caused an us vs them divide, and he used basic nationalism as a way to prop up his agenda and shift blame. Going global wasn't just the mistake he made. Her use of the word globalism was incorrect as well, and her basic comments on this was misguided.

Regardless of those Hitler comments that wasn't even my problem with her, my problem was she shouldn't have even been in that hearing to begin with. The hearing was meant to address a the rise of white nationalism and hate groups, a deadly serious topic—data show a surge in fatal attacks by far-right extremists in recent years.

Why was she even used a witness on this by conservatives? I think you know why.
"A deadly serious topic." <DontBelieve1>

She should be grateful they only lied to call her a nazi. They could have called her a gang rapist or a Russian spy like they do when they realize they've overused the "nazi" accusation so nobody who isn't retarded even takes it seriously anymore.

That's the face of a woman who can't believe they are pulling this bullshit.

What she said was stupid regardless of the context. Like playing that entire dialogue would have made her look like less of an idiot.

She looks like a woman upset they're airing her dirty laundry in public.

Again a lack of reading comprehension. She poses a hypothetical situation where Hitler was an actual nationalist and put his people (including jews) first and wanted to improve the welfare of his people. She then goes on to say what he did: globalism etc, and that she disaproves of what he actually did.

I guess they dont prioritize reading in the US but instead intersectional feminism and the like so I guess you arent to blame personally.

English is my second language and even I understand the arguement/explanation she is laying out.

And if she is such a nazi why does she work for a company that is pro jewish and that was founded by a jew?

This shows even more ignorance by her, the Nazi's most certainly did not want "globalism"(I say that as someone who sees many problems with current globalist capitalism), there expansionist tendancys were based on the idea of Lebensraum, a colonialist/imperialist view dating from before WW1 that empires needed to directly control their own resources/markets.

Do I think she's a Nazi? no I don't. Do I think she's looking to play down the dangers of ultra nationalism in a questionable fashion? yes I do.

Racism related to nationalism need not be exclusively directed at jewish groups.

The ship has long sailed on the "Candace Owens is stupid" issue. She's convenient for the Right from an identity standpoint and that fuels her popularity far beyond what someone of her ability deserves. And yeah, what she said was definitely classic Owens.

Even so, pushing white nationalism and all that? I don't buy it - at least, not intentionally. That's some Clayton Bigsby stuff right there and Candace strikes me as for more of a useful idiot rather than what she is being insinuated to be here.

Also I'm not sure stuff like this is productive for the Democrats. Overplaying the "you're a Nazi!" card to the extent where it lands on people who pretty clearly aren't will just serve to generate a case for being sympathetic to people - a bit like overplaying the "Russian collusion" angle has server to make Trump be able to credibly claim victimhood. Candace has *plenty* of legitimate stuff to rag on her for - insinuating she's a Nazi/White Nationalist is just going to give her a credible case for victimhood.

Wheres the Diamond and Sparkle thread or whatever those two stupid hair hatted bitches names are.

Those two are the dumbest black bitches I have ever seen and FOX and that smirky fuck Jesse Watters, always have them o as there two token blacks, and those bitches are terrible.
They are stereotypical black chicks who for some reason like Trump.
Everything is ghettofied except they are "right wing" even though if you sat them down and talked to them, they probably wouldnt be very right wing besides going "We be about Trump"

To be fair I believe it was the conservatives that picked her to testify, and Ted Lieu is a bit of a pandering idiot.

I'm no fan of her, but context matters. This reminds me of the time MSM went nuts and said Trump called immigrants animals, but it turned out he was answering a direct question about MS13. To save face we saw fluff pieces about MS13 being comprised of children. The whole was a cringey embarrassment.

The context doesn't save her here I'm afraid.

Listening to the full clip, to me sounded like she was just trying to argue that Hitler was a globalist and not a nationalist. But she did a poor job of it.

"Just" trying to paint her political rivals as Hitler without any actual knowledge of WW2 history.

Lol at the right using her because she's black. She's one of the most ignorant hacks I've seen. Cracks me up that anyone actually agrees with her very uninformed comments.

The guy in the video is a bigger can than she is.

"Just" trying to paint her political rivals as Hitler without any actual knowledge of WW2 history.
Which isn't the same as defending Hitler (which was what Lieu was trying to characterize her comments as).

Again, I'm no fan of hers. I think she doesn't have an original thought in her head and I suspect she only adopts opinions that will benefit her personally.

Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, even though they were used by Bush administration to further his warmongering ways. They were both qualified with distinguished background, even if most didn't like the administration.
Weak response. I’ll admit my criteria was not specific enough. Let me rephrase:
Can any of you provide a name of a right-leaning black activist that isn’t a “Repub prop”?

No. She's spot on for calling out disingenuous people and their self-serving false equivalencies.

By making her own self serving false equivalencies? I don't get how playing with the same tactics of those you despise makes you anything but a wanton hypocrite.

I couldn't imagine supporting a public figure who states that if you're not conservative, you're not for free thought. I would feel so stupid.

She posed a situation where Hitler would have been alright if he had not attempted to expand and globalize. Under this absurd and twisted worldview she pretends as if life inside of Germany wasn't hell for Jews and other minorities. Her assessment pretends that the crux of Hitler's ethos wasn't the destruction of Jews and other non Aryans, first within Germany, then the world.

Her words: I actually don't have any problems at all with the word 'nationalism.' I think that it gets, the definition gets poisoned by elitists that actually want globalism. Globalism is what I don't want. So when you think about, whenever we say 'nationalism,' the first thing people think about, at least in America, is Hitler. You know, he was a national socialist, but if Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well, okay fine. The problem is ... he had dreams outside of Germany. He wanted to globalize. He wanted everybody to be German. Everybody to be speaking German. Everybody to look a different way. ... To me that's not nationalism.

So for those of you who lack a brain stem:

She starts with explaining that people have a bad connotation with the word NATIONALISM (and often, as seen in this thread) and confuse it with white nationalism and that many believe that Hitler was a NATIONALIST.

Then she says that IF Hitler focused on only making their country great again (like rebuilding it after WW1) that would be nationalism. At no point did she imply that what Hitler actually DID do was a good thing. In fact she was opposed to what he did and that to her, those things were NOT nationalism but globalism. Meaning, she does NOT SUPPORT HITLER. What you people are doing is EXACTLY what she explains. That to dummies nationalism = white nationalism/Nazism. Which again, shows your lack of intelligence and supports her argument.

Nationalism: "Nationalism is a political, social, and economic ideology and movement characterized by the promotion of the interests of a particular nation, especially with the aim of gaining and maintaining the nation's sovereignty (self-governance) over its homeland."

Please do tell me how wanting the best for you own country is racist/Nazism. Seeing as how if that's the case then every American who has ever lived has been a Nazi/racist and so are you.

I wonder how they feel about millions of well off Chinese. Now those muthafuckers are nationalist to the core.
