interesting. I've been thinking Jae's striking reminds me of Conor v Floyd so it makes me wonder.

I've always been a Dana fan, lately he comes across as such a bitch.
So confused on why he had to bring up Oscar...Dana comes across as a woman.

He's always had thin skin and female emotions because of his deadbeat dad, but now without his roids and comfort food he's extra triggered

A Dana fan? Can't imagine why someone would be a fan of him. Nothing about the way he is acting now is any different than 20 years ago.

Nick has more diverse boxing skillset with better technical execution of punches. He has hooks and uppercuts . Literally better at everything. Sure if his cardio is up to it he would fare much better. Put both of them in a ring and Nate gets dominated. That's why Nate gets the fight and not Nick :D

All of this would be true if the year was 2013 and not 2023 :D

DId you see Nick's previous fight? He literally looked like an old man in there, an old man who didn't really wanna be there to boot.

Nate is much better at this point.

In his last fight Nate was bending over with his hands on his knees like when my fat grandpa walks up the stairs. Nate is quite old too. Lawler isn't nearly as washed as Tony.

Nate was just doing that to troll. I can't believe you're even arguing, Nick's "performance" against Lawler was sad and embarrassing, and wasn't even close to Nate's capabilities in his previous two fights.

I'm not arguing I'm pointing out Nate looks like shit too and is objectively past his prime. Nick was competitive before he said F it and gave up. They are basically the same age.

Nick and Lawler would destroy Tony Ferguson. Now that I would definitely argue.

No I havent seen his last fight. I try to avoid these hasbeen fights just like I wont watch this Paul vs Nate thing. Both are over the hill. I focused on the sparring and training footage I watched from both regarding boxing but you are right it was a longer time ago.

Still if I compare that, and Nicks last was 3 years ago, Nate has the crisper faster 1-2 but thats it. Nick has way way better footwork, angling, variety of punches, ring iq.

Honestly if they would now both prepare for a boxing bout vs each other I still do see Nick winning that. Actually that fight would sell pretty well :D

You in some way have to appreciate his factor in the growth of the sport, it's undeniable. I've always been of the opinion that Dana should stick around and the UFC is still better with him, but I've changed my mind on that.

Jake's shitty, telegraphed right hand ain't much, but it'll be more than enough since I expect him to just walk through whatever Nate has for him.

Why the fuck is this on PPV btw, jeezes you can sell anything to some people lol

It looks like Cormier has changed his mind on Jake Paul, and now feels that he has been "exposed" in his loss to Tommy Fury.

Daniel Cormier thinks Tommy Fury exposed Jake Paul.

Paul (6-1) takes on former UFC star Nate Diaz (0-0) in an eight-round boxing match Aug. 5 at American Airlines Center in Dallas. The fight will be at 185 pounds and promoted under the DAZN banner with a live pay-per-view broadcast.

Cormier initially said Paul’s size could pose problems for Diaz. While he’s not ready to predict a Diaz win, the former UFC dual champ wasn’t too impressed with Paul’s most recent loss to Tommy Fury.

Daniel says that Jake has now been shown to have a limited skill set, as he was unable to adjust to difficulties encountered in the fight, instead spamming the overhand right.

“When watching Jake fight against Tommy Fury, he’s not as good as we originally thought,” Cormier said on his ESPN show “DC & RC.” “Because Tommy Fury pretty much limited him to just throwing overhand rights. He didn’t have an answer for Tommy Fury, a guy that’s been boxing for as long as Fury’s been boxing. He just kept trying to hit him with the overhand right.”

Cormier was impressed with Paul’s continued growth as he defeated former MMA champions Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice) and Anderson Silva. Facing an actual boxer in Fury seems to have changed his perception.

He says he initially thought more of Jake, as he had beaten former MMA champions. It seems that he is thereby implying that MMA striking is limited, as well, even though I don't think he intended to.

“I respected what he was doing because he beat Anderson (Silva) in a boxing match, and what he had did to Tyron and those guys. So, I did think that he was really improving. But I think in watching the Tommy Fury match, it showed me how limited he still is in terms of his boxing development because when that weapon (right hand) was rendered useless. He just kept going to it, and it became more and more evident that it wasn’t going to land. But he didn’t have a plan B.”

I don't think this will come as much of a surprise to anyone here. We knew he could beat former MMA fighters, but boxers with real experience seem to pose a challenge. Will he be able to adjust and recover? Has he plateaued?

i don't know why anyone would put any stock into DC's opinion on boxing. i imagine a bunch of regulars on this board have far better educated opinions.

paul is athletic, he has the resources, he's dedicated, he has quality training... so he's pretty good for a guy with only a couple of fights. he's good when compared to regular people.

but if you thought jake paul was good in the sense that he could compete at a high level in boxing, then you simply had no clue about boxing.

i mean seriously, who the fuck is impressed with someone beating askren in a boxing match?
