He's making himself and the other guy money and they agree to it. Gotta carve out a niche for yourself in this life sometimes.
Interesting how Colby gets blasted for fighting older WWs (still much more competitive than a 25-year old boxer vs. smaller, washed 40 year old MMA guys) but people come to Jake's defense in droves. Can't we say Colby (and Burns for that matter) are helping themselves and Masvidal, Woodley, Lawler, Maia, etc. make a good living, too?

I am not one of those folks. It's fighting and if you can make better matchups for yourself...then do! It might hurt your all time standing with the fans, but I doubt they care anyways. I would say the very same for Colby as Jake.

And I wouldn't exactly say that fighting older MMA guys with more experience is the same as fighting retired MMA fighters at a sport they are not good at, I'd give Colby a little more credit than that...doesn't seem like others do.

Cool. As long as there's consistency, I'm fine, whether or not I agree.

Paul struggled to defend the jab of fury I could see Nate spamming it as well unfortunately Nate's natural weight is many pounds below Fury. I see this fight being difficult for judges to score and most likely ends in a Paul win by dec via more damaging shots

As I said earlier, I think prime Nick (but probably not Nate) would be an interesting match-up for Paul. Unorthodox and certainly not elite by boxing standards, but he had non-stop cardio, punches-in-bunches and an iron chin. No one has pushed the pace with Jake like Nick would. Nate's a bit smaller than Nick was never quite as good, though they're similar. But both are way too old and washed now.

Yeah, I wonder who will be after Nate?
  • Diego Sanchez?
  • Cerrone?
  • Jake Elleberger?
  • Royce Gracie?
Nothing like being much bigger, stronger, faster, younger and having a lot less CTE. If Jake takes up out outdoor sports, he'll probably literally shoot fish in a barrel. No need for sportsmanship or a challenge!
Charlie Brenneman would be my next bet.

Should have happened in PFL,might have actually bought it for a decent price.

... you can't thibk through who might be interested in buying this? You can disagree that it's interesting to you, or that it will be a success, but it's pretty apparent WHO is considered likely to be interested in this: casuals, some mma fans, the same people who bought the previous, super successful Jake Paul fights...

I'm not a Jake Paul hater and don't root against his success. I just don't know who this fight was made to appeal too. He was a lot more competitive against Tommy than a lot of folks, myself included, believed he could be but he still lost.

I don't think this fight is going to sell well, be exciting, nor do I believe Nate is going to be finished.

Jake should shock the world and fight Francis Ngannou after Nate.

I mean, he says he's a better boxer than MMA guys right, shouldn't be an issue.

That would be amazing.

If Paul can get through the initial onslaught, I think he can win.

Francis may punch himself out and become a punching bag.

I dunno, I'm interested. I won't pay for it, but it's somewhat interesting to answer some form of the question " how will Nate Diaz do against a boxer who we can call "legitimate" in the sense that he has gone to a decision against Fury.

I dont think I'm alone in that. That's one population- mildly curious mma fans. And then there's the massive pop culture following that Jake Paul has... some boxing fans will be interested...

It seems pretty obvious who would be appealed to by this fight. People with millions of dollars on the line seem to be pretty certain that there is enough interested people to turn a profit.

And I agree. I don't think nate wins and I dont think nate gets knocked out. I do believe it will sell well though.

Let's revive this when the numbers come in, see who was right

Nate fought at 155 and 170. Jake picking another small old MMA sunset r who was known more for his BJJ then striking though he did catch Conor and Leon. A younger Nate maybe but this is prune picking by Jake. Jake will over power .
