IIRC, This was a 2 fight deal, 6 months later an MMA match.
HATE the MMA wasn't first, smart move from Paul using Father Time to improve his chances.

It would be hilarious if Nate puts him on bamby legs at least once.

Don't care a bit about this fight, just wish I could remember which nitwit here basically called me retarded for saying Diaz would fight a Paul bro and bag a decent paycheck.

Jake should shock the world and fight Francis Ngannou after Nate.

I mean, he says he's a better boxer than MMA guys right, shouldn't be an issue.

Should be fighting KSI or Salt Papi. We've seen enough matches with small past prime retired mma fighters. I actually thought he'd want to rematch Tommy but must want an easy pay day and more experience first.
Yeah, I wonder who will be after Nate?
  • Diego Sanchez?
  • Cerrone?
  • Jake Elleberger?
  • Royce Gracie?
Nothing like being much bigger, stronger, faster, younger and having a lot less CTE. If Jake takes up out outdoor sports, he'll probably literally shoot fish in a barrel. No need for sportsmanship or a challenge!

Not really he didn’t beat him in the sport he was Olympian in lol. It’s about as respectful as beating an Olympic diver at ping pong after spending an exuberant amount of money on ping pong training for a year.
Wrestling is an aggressive combat sport. Boxing is an aggressive combat sport.

Olympic diving has nothing to do with ping-pong (although I could dominate anyone in that).

My analogy stands.

Not sure who this fight is meant to appeal to but best of luck to both of them.

... you can't thibk through who might be interested in buying this? You can disagree that it's interesting to you, or that it will be a success, but it's pretty apparent WHO is considered likely to be interested in this: casuals, some mma fans, the same people who bought the previous, super successful Jake Paul fights...

Prediction/Script:

Jake knocks Nate down 3x early on. Jake Paul fades and gets whooped on in the later rounds, but wins a split decision. Nate challenges him to an MMA fight because that's that real gangster shit motherfucker not this corrupt boxing shit, then Uncle Dana throws Conor vs Edwards on top of the PPV card with a WMMA title fight as the co main.

Everyone wins except the fans.

Very cool! All Nate needs to do is land one really good shot and he will automatically earn his symbolic victory.

Majority of people in this thread can disagree with
"caring about this matchup"...

move this to the boxing forum.

Neither boxer is in the UFC and there is no MMA related.

What's up lately with giving life to cross-post threads?

nate diaz is smaller, older, worn out, and contrary to popular belief, can't box for shit.
Yes sir. This is a myth MMA fans brought into because Joe Rogan kept saying it. They like to hate on Rogan all the time, but they buy into what he says.

He's making himself and the other guy money and they agree to it. Gotta carve out a niche for yourself in this life sometimes.

Chin +

Chin + Cardio + Stockton Slaps equal win

He doesnt have power in his punches Stockton slap or no Stockton slap. His jab is ok sure. "Cardio" means nothing if you get hit hard, that saps the cardio right out. But in the end we talk about mostly fake celebrity boxing that has no real value. Its not like they will face of in a real pro fight.
BKFC or any amateur tourney is more competitive than this kardashian like media events so hey maybe Diaz wins. The real shocker is that this stuff is posted in the boxing section.

Why the surprise, not just a "back to MMA guys to win again".? This fight was rumored before, and in Diaz's post-fight speech, referenced boxing.. it was obvious what he meant.

MMA fight, Diaz wins. Boxing match, Paul wins pretty easily.

i can't stand jake paul, but nate diaz is smaller, older, worn out, and contrary to popular belief, can't box for shit.

THIS, Diaz gets absolutely fucking battered and hit more than any fighter i recall, yet some people still bang on with the narrative he is a good boxer...about as good as Homer Simpson was

How on earth is Diaz going to win this one????
He has zero power in his hands. He's literally NEVER knocked anyone out in a fight (a few TKO stoppages that were mostly questionable), and with boxing gloves that's reduced by half.
Yes, he's a pressure fighter, but he's facing a younger, hungrier, more athletic, power puncher with boxing experience.
Sorry guys. Game over for Nate.
