The Interim Title is an insult to Frankie and Aldo imo

Frankie Edgar has been a champion for awhile and defended his title-3 times and defeated alot of top contenders since then but giving him an interim title fight is just a no-no for all the things he has achieved. While offering interim title on the same card as McG.

Jose Aldo lost to McG but fuck me that was a fluke fight and even more of a fluke then JDS vs Cain 1 or GSP-Serra 1 because this one ended quicker and lets be honest there was no fight. A punch landed thats all that can be said. A dominant champ for years and defended his title 7-times no rematch given or considered then offered an Interim title on the same card as McGregor.

Since McG-siver things have turned into a freak show and why the hell was Dana at Conor's house saying he was a guy who did this or that but rejected and insulted his long time champs and offered them a lowly interim while they have worked and deserve respect

Yeah its got sour as fuck.
Its prime time for anorher org to be created,the fans make the UFC the money.

Since McGregor has got a lot of mainstream people watching and driven up ratings ,they seemed to have gone all WWE,was shitty prior but each decision seems more stupid and unfair

I don;t know that it is an insult.

An interim belt just doesn't make sense in this situation. Conor won the belt a few months ago. After Diaz beats him again I am sure he will fight again at 145 within the year.

No need at all for an interim belt yet.

Of course it is but the UFC doesn't give a fuck.

After the Conor train cashes out the UFC will be selling the company to the Chinese.

Just enjoy it while it lasts i guess.

I think Interim titles, in general, are crap.

It's especially so for this instance. Conor isn't not defending his title due to injury, he's just plain refusing to defend his title. As with boxing if you refuse to defend it you're stripped of it.

Conor (and Dana) is looking at the payday over defending his title, and that's 100% completely fine if that's what he wants to do, but in choosing the payday he should be stripped of the title. Not to mention that he's going to have one hell of a time getting back to 145 after this fight, as odds are he'll work to put decent weight on so he's not at a disadvantage.

I'm not Aldo fan and never was and to be fairly honest I never liked Aldo but just pointing out the reality
 
I'm not sure the interim title is an insult. It's frivolous, sure. It's totally pointless. Don't know why they just don't bill the fight as a number 1 contender match. Or just....make Aldo/Holloway and give Edgar the bloody shot.


Well I hope Edgar KO's Aldo so I can finally see Conor/Edgar.

Fairly confident it won't have the interim label for long anyway, Conor fighting at 145 again seems to be getting further and further away from happening to me.

I think that IF he beats Diaz he will probably get a fight with RDA again for the title, and no matter what happens in that fight he will give up the 145 title immediately afterwards.
He wins, he's a champ in two divisions and achieved what he wanted.....he loses and he finally realizes it ain't happening in the UFC.

If its an unlikely draw....I dunno a super quick as possible rematch to give him the chance again to two division champ, so I suppose that is the only way it wouldn't instantly be relinquished, but I just don't see fighting at 145 happening for him again.
 
Its not as bad as other times in ufc history and postponed title fights. Conor was going to fight for the 155 belt but got switched to diaz, not his fault. Were you not interested in seeing if someone can hold two belts at once? I was. Now conor gets a rematch because he does whatever the company asks of him and even fights hurt. Now if another fight would be after the rematch again then thats problems but its not so bad really. Coming from a non conor fan just speaking the truth.,

Aldo deserves that shit, he was calling Conor's interim belt a meaningless toy, a joke.

Well, now you're the one fighting for the toy belt, Aldo, because Conor won't fight you, just like you didn't fight him.
 
They really do need to drop the word interim. Conor is not fighting at FW ever again. Everybody knows it, too. So, just stop this nonsense.

Vacate the belt, and everybody moves on. This is an unbelievably bad move the UFC is making. I mean ALL credibility goes out the window with this debacle. Though the UFC appears to not give a fuck.

What's the point of having titles if they mean nothing ?

If you can't make weight, you must vacate.
