This crap has infested every major sport. Betting lines are being constantly pushed during an event, the sports commentators are always talking about it, they will cut to some smarmy betting expert who advises you on what to put your money on.

Why is this happening? Because it didn't used to be legal and now it is, thanks to a Supreme Court decision in 2018 and lawmakers in every state, no doubt taking money from the same online betting sites that benefit the most from this. I've had an issue with this for a while now and saw that Breaking Points did a video about it recently. Its a good watch.

My issue with it isn't really that it was legalized, but that its being pushed on the public to an insane degree, moreso than anything I've seen in quite some time. Its an infestation and there's a simple solution. Ban advertising of it, just like we do cigarettes.

It's everywhere these days. I feel like 40% of the ads i see these days are about betting/gambling. It's infested even the drag racing i watch (NHRA), they now have a betting site. You can bet on elections, etc. Fortunately i don't like to risk losing a bunch of money, so i don't bet.

How is John force doing? They said he had some brain damage, but I never heard how bad and haven’t kept up.

They need to ban betting companies limiting people. Pisses me off that they can take all Dave's kids college money no problem but if I'm winning too much money on MMA betting then suddenly I can only get a miniscule amount of money down.

It's been in Australia for years, and it is an absolute blight on society. The companies have the politicians in their pockets, advertise to kids etc.

It's awful.

Not only should we ban advertising of it, we should ban it outright. Gambling shouldn't be legal.

Ban Native American casinos, too. Ban Las Vegas. Nationalize them. They should be seized and become the property of the federal government. Use the funds they generate to offset the requirement for taxes by furnishing our federal spending programs (by that, I mean whatever revenues are counted should be added explicitly to federal sheets citing the collection of tax revenues from the public, and the % of GDP). Because while this is as anti-Libertarian as I am about anything, otherwise Democrats would fuck even this up and not use the money to relieve the taxpayer. They'd just tax everyone the same despite the new hordes of cash coming in.

I'm being earnest, btw, not sarcastic. Gambling is a scourge. It should be banned everywhere. The only allowances of it should be either totally or semi-governmental so that the majority of proceeds go to funding government services like the lottery. If the private outfit can't stay solvent while sending the majority of the proceeds to the government, then it doesn't need to exist, and licenses there should be reserved for outfits that are entirely state-run.

This is how you turn a vice into a positive.

If you ban sports betting people will just bet using offshore companies.

Funny, your kind believes in bans on guns, don't they? Hmm...

Also, can you read? Because apparently you didn't notice that banning gambling was the guiding sentiment of my post, but NOT the proposed policy. The proposed policy was to nationalize the vice industry to turn it towards the good of the people.

I don't believe in banning guns in the US no but I would oppose them being legalised in the UK.

I'm not sure what you mean by "your kind" unless there's a correlation between sports gambling and gun control that I'm not aware of.

Madmick is proposing they ban corporate sports betting and have it go through the government like the lottery does and treat the proceeds as part of federal spending. That's not actually a bad idea. As long as advertising it is still banned. I'd also tack on that it should be mandatory for the money gained to go towards domestic issues and not whatever BS we are doing overseas.

He did say that you should ban it though. That's all I have issue with. If me and Larry want to bet each other a grand on the outcome of the next UFC main event and a betting exchange facilitates that for us then what's wrong with that?

Were you not betting on sports with your friends and coworkers before corporations got involved?

- Brazil congress also aproved that trash here. It's a plague, every side you look, theres a anouce of those bets sites!

This is a good example of a gambling addiction in action.

Pure degenerate.
