Goals & Gains The Hell in Me

I went to have my spine x-rayed today and it’s a bit of a train wreck at the moment. The Dr said “you were able to squat how much with your spine looking like this?” Or something along those lines. I suspect that driving 6-7000km in the last couple of weeks didn’t do me any favours.

So I now have a list of 15 exercises I have to do every day for the rest of my life and weekly physio, chiro adjustments and massage therapy for a while.

Probably done squatting anything meaningful, probably done deadlifting. At least for now. If I can get my issues addressed and my spine not looking like a slinky someone tried to unravel, who knows.

Also seems to me there’s not much of a point of maintaining this log anymore. Back to log books or recording on excel.

Damn. That's fucking harsh, man. I'm really sorry to hear it.

Can you still do upper body stuff that doesn't load the spine? Bench, chest supported rows etc? While it's not in the same ballpark as Squats, maybe you can do stuff like leg extensions. At least that would allow you to do some hypertrophy work, even if you can't lift heavy.

I hope you stick around the Forum even if you choose to stop logging your training. Best of luck, man.

Dang that really sucks.

If you have a doc that's open minded you can look into the world of peptides. BPC157+TB500+GHK-CU can work small miracles. I was able to significantly improve many decades old injuries. As long as you don't have active cancer you may want to look into it. The first two peptides are often advertised as 'wolverine stack'. The last one helps with inflammation and serves as an injury marker so if you are going to have it injected, I'd recommend pinning it to the injury spot or as close as practical. I needed around 1mg of each per day most days for several months.

I took up running again, I just wrapped up an early morning session.

My time at Sherdog has come full circle, I started as a runner that was lurking the conditioning forums. I ended up lurking in the S&P after someone IRL told me I was skinny fat that needed to add some muscle. I added some muscle and forgot to deal with the fat part.
