I know of three. I have seen them before and been around them before. Not recently, but I have...its not really about people dying as it is being infected and spreading it. If it spreads too much then there wont be enough medical personnel to take care of people.

I'm in France right now and every day the number of case almost double.
By Summer it's going to be full blown bad. I highly doubt they will keep any event from happening but let's see.
In my view, Summer is going to be a dead period. Tourism is going to be badly hit as nobody will be flying.

Shit is really worrying and it hasn't even fully started, and stock market already crashed.

People should prepare for a rough couple next months.

also a moot point to compare X to Y

first off all, the odds of becoming a pro fighter vs getting the virus .... terrible comparison. You are much more likely to get the virus.
Secondly, becoming a pro fighter (your example) is something you need to achieve yourself and have control over. Unless you barricade yourself indoors , the odds of you contracting a virus is pretty likely , esp when people aren’t aware they have it and go on with their daily lives.

I’m not saying everyone will die from the coronavirus, but to shrug it off like it’s a joke is stupid. At the rate it’s goinf now, it’s a matter of time before a massive percent of the population gets it. Sure , a HIGH percent of cases will be mild / not harming. But who really wants to be sick for 10-14 days? Not me.

All it takes is one unaware individual to go to a sporting event and contaminate a few dozen and it spreads like wildfire.

A lot of businesses may be hurt and jobs lost too. Who will want to patronize restaurants, movie theaters, casinos, barbers, etc. if this gets bad? And in the United States, if you lose your job you probably lose your health insurance. That isn't an issue in most advanced countries because they are guaranteed healthcare as a right. In the United States, however,we may be about to see how effed up our healthcare system is for the working man when healthcare isn't guaranteed and he loses his job.

You are refusing to acknowledge the truth of what I wrote. Trump did away with the pandemic response team. Fact. It has nothing to do with my political views. It is an actual fact. Do you understand that facts exist independent of ideology? Closing your eyes to this and trying to shift attention away from it is bullshit. Medical scientists were all agreed that a pandemic was inevitable, if not corona virus then it would have been something else. This isn't controversial to anyone who understands the nature of the world. It is simply the true nature of the world we live in. It was inevitable that it would come from somewhere. That's why there was a pandemic response team in existence. If you can't accept reality, you've let your political ideology, or your Trump worship, make you into a delusional fool. And, as the sign on President Truman's desk famously said: "The buck stops here." You're trying to pass the buck away from Trump. He effed up on this. Own it.

And to paraphrase another article: if it doesn't explode in America, it's because the health sector took massive action and stopped it. Asking us all to wash our hands more often and more thoroughly should not be considered a massive infringement. And staying away from others if you get symptoms is just a common courtesy.

You're missing the point, and making a strawman argument either on purpose or not.

Trump did not cause this, and it's going to spread regardless of him. Everyone knows this.

But his job to be the head administrator of the federal government, which includes being prepared to take swift action in the case of random emergencies. Most of that work should be proactive, not reactive. And his approach to governance didn't help.

His actions a few years ago made it so that the infrastructure and expertise was not in place to handle an emergency like this. And throwing money at the problem at the last minute will barely help.

He prides himself on being able to fire federal employees and not replace them, thinking he can do all their jobs from the White House. We now have something to judge that against. And epidemics like this are too important to let this conversation slide into personal attacks.

I'm not attacking Trump or you. But I am saying that his style of government - decisions he made and bragged about, including firing experienced employees because of a perceived "deep state", and/or funding cuts - made this potential emergency worse, not better.
