So the border is not closed
It's not an absolute. I understand reality is difficult for you.
So the border is not closed
That is a false equivalence and you know it. I'm talking about my time as a Union officer. Not how I waste time vs how I spend time to ensure I'm healthy.Time spent is not a one-to-one measure of utility.
I spend a lot more time posting on Sherdog than I do at the doctor's office. That doesn't mean that I "need" my Sherdog account more than my health insurance.
Yeah, unions protect some sub-par employees. However, they also make sure that we ALL don't get paid shit.
It's not an absolute. I understand reality is difficult for you.
Why should I not have the right to work though? Why should a union forbid me from working for a company without paying them?
I am an adult, and I should be able to work wherever I want without being beholden to a union.
It's my golf course. It is a private golf course.
You must be a member in good standing to play on my golf course.
I agree with everything you said. That is a false equivalence and you know it. I'm talking about my time as a Union officer. Not how I waste time vs how I spend time to ensure I'm healthy.
I recognise more than most the importance of Labour unions, I've spent a very long time working in one, helped unionise departments, done initial bargaining, continued bargaining, kept collectives from falling apart, etc. But the wasted time on the useless cannot be understated. The only reason it doesn't get discussed more openly is because a huge chunk of Labour types want to fight the company for the sake of fighting. Like with most things I'm a centrist, I prefer to fight for what's right, not just for the fight.
Are you stupid? How does that have anything to do with unions getting in the way of people trying to work for a company?
