Would you vote for a party that was pro-gun, and pro-worker?

With dems you get the pro-labor platform. With Reps you get the defense of the 2nd amendment.

What if I like both?

Why do I not get the chance to vote for a candidate that shares my beliefs?

Who decided that one party was going to be for workers, and the other for guns?

Back in the day from 1940-1970's, I believe both parties were pro-gun, and pro-worker. What happened?

The republicans were never pro-worker. They were always a businessman party.

Would you mind giving some examples of 'pro worker'?

Vote for workers, buy guns, problem solved.

Rather than being an exclusively pro "worker" party id rather it be a pro ownership and pro entrepreneurship party as well as pro worker. Some of us do not want to work for others but instead build our own businesses. I'd rather our political parties didn't pit one against the other.

2 party system sucks ass and you end up with one or the other type situations

You've got to stop the bothsideism, Viva.

While the NRA and GOP constantly scare monger about Dems "coming for our guns," this is a hollow threat used to score political points and sell more guns. Gun sales soared under Obama because he was going to "take our guns away"... except he didn't. He never tried.

The GOP on the other hand, actually DOES fuck over unions and stack the deck in favor of corporations instead of employees every single chance it gets.

Slight difference.

The chamber of commerce has pitted one vs the other. Right to work laws pit one vs the other.

Hey, I would love if corporate America bargained in good faith. They don't though.

We are in a war whether you like it or not.

There is a distinct difference.

This really isn't a bothism for me. These are the 2 most important domestic issues to me. I really don't like having to choose.

It was easy before. Labor is on the verge of having the last nail in the coffin driven home, while actually banning guns was laughable.

Now I get to choose when both issues are in a desperate situation.

I am honestly scared of what a dem president, house, and Senate would do on guns if they had control.

Disagree with my position if you like, but it is sincere.

The democrats didn't push the AWB?

The democrats didn't institute hard anti gun laws in democratic states?

Obama said absolutely nothing to make people worry? Nothing?

But if you notice I didn't say "pro corporation". I said pro ownership and pro entrepreneurship. It seems to me that the ultimate, long term solution to corporate domination...that doesn't result in some for of centralized control and state domination...is to to increase ownership of property, resources, and businesses for the "little guy".

Alot of the policies that are meant to regulate large corporations only end up stifling and regulating small businesses and entrepreneurs as they don't have the accountants, lobbyists, and resources to exploit loopholes, pay extra frees, and comply with increasing regulations. You actually end up stifling competition and helping large corporations monopolize everything by squeezing out the little guy with "pro worker" policies.

Yes

Yes

Not really. He said some things, but it is a party line issue for Democrats. Even a Democrat president is expected to toe the line of the DNC.

Don’t really care about guns, I like them, but you’re never going to get rid of them because there’s so many out there. The point is moot.

While union do good things, they also offer the same protection to the worst employees as the best. They’ long overdue for a restructuring.

Tbh, pretty happy with 3/4 of what Republicans are doing now.

Are you goddamn kidding? The democrats outright say they want gun bans, Obama cried on television and says his biggest disappointment in office was not passing enough additional gun laws. Can you give you give some examples of "stacking the deck"?

Really? All parties will claim they're pro-worker, pro-growth, against unemployment, against criminals and so on.
But the republicans were always a party of businessmen, of course, they also needed working class votes in order to win.

Thats great. The thing is, the reason why every Republican from Eisenhower to Nixon was a pro-labor, economic progressive, was because these 2 policies are the only policies in known history to create the largest middle class the world has ever seen.

Ownership on a large scale is achieved by being pro-worker, pro-infastructure.

The same can be said for the Democrats.

If you are looking for a good read, that might change your view on this, I recommend a very well known book. A People's history of the United States. From FDR, to Carter, to Clinton, they have been just as pro-capital.

I fully admit however that since Reagan, there is a very significant difference. The Republican party is a enemy of organised labor, and anyone claiming otherwise is a fool.

I just want the government to be smaller, tax less, and not spend so much damn money. Why can't we have that in America?

Everything government attempts is wasteful, inefficient, and/or limits freedom.

Never going to get rid of drugs either. Hasn't stopped anyone from criminalizing them, and doing more harm then good.
