The Gracie Academy truly is morphing into the Church of Scientology of the BJJ world. Helio is their LRH, Rorion is their David Miscaivage and so on. One thing to remember, cults of personality driven by insane greed rarely work out very well in the long run.

To that point, give it a rest, Rener. You're never going to sell the idea of online ranking without live rolling against a fully resisting opponent to people who actually train, It's not going to happen. All you're actually accomplishing is making your side of the family kind of a laughing stock, which is a shame because you and your brother are obviously uncompromisingly talented grapplers and by all accounts nice guys.

Also, I want to ask. According to Rener, GU is for those at rural areas where real gyms aren't an option, correct? Then he goes on to GU is good for real gyms since 90% of his students leave GU to go to a real gym....except there shouldn't be real gyms if what he said in the first statement is true...

There are vendors that come on here and push their products. I really appreciate the input. When someone is getting paid to promote a product we as a community can evaluate their input under that light. Common sense.

Calling someone a hater because they want to see if you have a financial intrest in pushing a product is not a legitimate response. I can promise you I dislike gracie academy more for your unscrupulous posts than anything else. It was one place on my vacation destination list (I have been to Marcelo's, Alliance ATL on vacation). It is no longer on the list due to what seems to be some shady stuff I have seen you post.

I think that the Gracie University still needs more revision, but the "technical" belts is a step in the right direction I suppose.

On another note, I actually really do like Rener and Ryron and believe that they are motivated by a desire to see jiu-jitsu flourish (this desire is at least equal with their desire for monetary gain obviously). However their decision to use SEO manipulation tactics through a fool like SBJ is rapidly reversing my opinion of them...

What exactly do you think I'm a hater of? I own Gracie Combatives, the video's are well done and I bet the Masters cycle is just as good. I'd probably buy them if they ever went on dvd. Giving someone a blue belt after doing Gracie Combatives is just plain silly... I don't really get why you won't admit to your own affiliation with them. That makes them look bad...and I know you don't want that.

Also, not denying it pretty much says you are.
