Crime The Gabby Petito case.

I know he wasn't a suspect but when you look at the comprehensive situation--- the guy, as he normally is, can't shut up. He's always on social media, making a big deal about everything. Then he's suddenly as sullen as can be, and he came back without her. I don't understand how they wouldn't have tabs on him at all times. So he's only a person of interest, and not a suspect, fine.
But it looks to me like one of those times where the missing person situation became nothing more than an "account" if you will, and people from different departments go in, do their job, file things properly but never really look at the entire context. People were pointing the finger at this guy pretty much as soon as it was clear there was a problem.
Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense to me. The case seemed to immediately blow up and get national headlines while they still knew where the guy was. It's crazy that nobody thought that they should keep an eye on the guy. If not the police, a DA, local politician, or somebody.
Bizarre story all around.

If I had to guess she attacked him again and he killed her. Or he just killed her, got fed up. He's only like early 20's so he was likely scared to death. He went home and told his parents that somebody else killed her, or that she killed herself, and they decided to help him.

That's exactly how I think it went down. He probably lost it after she hit him again, it got out of hand, and here we are.

First I’ve heard of it.

Check out MrBallen on YouTube if you’re into weird stories that turn out to be true.

Edit: there’s a disturbing amount of crazy out there bros

Lots of salty race baiters in this thread.

The real reason for the massive media attention is because there is a very strong chance that the boyfriend is another Chris Watts, and that story was (tragically) huge.

Well you'd think their house was a hornets nest, so many feds flying in and out.

They clearly found something big.

Might be something with the shed but they dug up a bunch of dirt in the front yard.

A gun? A phone with stuff on it?

I'm baffled that people don't plan their crimes more carefully these days. If you have anything, anything even remotely connected to an incident, why would you keep it in your house? Why would you not just shut off your phone or better yet leave it at the house, go dispose of it?

Panic and paranoia make us do crazy stuff

meanwhile women get beat, killed by domestic violence all the time... sad story.. but this is nothing more then a media money grab... whatever gets the views and clicks right??? RIP to that woman

Are you implying OJ did it? If the glove doesn't fit you must acquit!
it’s really the same kind of situation. neither really had concrete damning evidence that was strong enough to successfully convict them (although one did get convicted) but there shouldn’t be any doubt in anyone’s mind that they did it, just from a logical standpoint. it’s also possible that laci peterson cut herself open and jumped in the water to drown, but it’s not probable whatsoever.

the goof drove back to Florida to his parents house with her white van (without her) and doesn’t care at all what happened to her.

He probably wanted to go to Vegas to get married and she got tired of him after a month of living together and told him that it was over. So the sloth went berserk and killed her.

Of course, the media are a bunch of soulless cunts, what's new though?

I'm actually aware of a similar case to this. Parents gave a false alibi for their son and they faced no charges at all. I'm not sure how often they do.

That would be clear cut obstruction of justice if they knowingly covered for their son by giving false information to investigators. "Knowingly" being the key word and hard to prove sometimes under certain circumstances. Don't know what case you're talking about, but are you sure they didn't just give the cops the same alibi the son gave them, while being oblivious to the son's actual whereabouts at the time? Or at the very least, that it was impossible to prove that the parents intentionally gave false information?

No he isn't Chris Watts, he didn't kill his wife and kids. He killed his girl, which is pretty common. Lots of black and hispanic girls get killed by their boyfriends/fiances/husbands.

She's in the news because she's a moderately attractive white girl. White girls in distress is ratings gold in America.

they "were" keeping an eye on him. that's how efficient american police are. he's the only suspect & they knew where he was, and he still disappeared right in front of their face. absolute morons.

anyways, they believe they've found her body:

Fucking hell

The usual forum douchebag somehow making a homicide that nobody else thinks of as a racial issue into a racial media issue.

Are these dorks capable of discourse without injecting SJW bullshit?

Wasn't he the guy that killed his family and stuffed them in 50 gallon drums? I thought they had him on video with the drums moving the bodies?
The dude in Colorado? Yeah that was awful a short I watched a physiological video on him by a criminal justice channel. Guy wasn’t even a psycho apparently.

How many of them travel around the country in a van and post their travels on the internet/social media, and then one (probably) murders the other one during the travelling and returns home alone without any explanation?

You don't think if they were both black this would still be news?

My information is admittedly second hand so I can't say for sure. It may have boiled down to something like there existing some doubt as to exactly when the crime occurred. So, although the evidence may have strongly suggested that the crime occurred during a certain time frame, it maybe wasn't 100% proven to the point that the parents could be charged. I'm speculating however. I was told that they even testified on behalf of the son.

Not only that but if they even kept 3 guys to keep an eye on Laundry, then they wouldn’t have had to waste all that money and resources on a manhunt in the nature reserve

No, it wouldn't be wall to wall news if they were both black. Guaranteed.

This is a well studied phenomenon, white female victims get more attention: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_white_woman_syndrome

Thats a cold hard fact. The only thing up for debate is why that is.
