Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense to me. The case seemed to immediately blow up and get national headlines while they still knew where the guy was. It's crazy that nobody thought that they should keep an eye on the guy. If not the police, a DA, local politician, or somebody.I know he wasn't a suspect but when you look at the comprehensive situation--- the guy, as he normally is, can't shut up. He's always on social media, making a big deal about everything. Then he's suddenly as sullen as can be, and he came back without her. I don't understand how they wouldn't have tabs on him at all times. So he's only a person of interest, and not a suspect, fine.
But it looks to me like one of those times where the missing person situation became nothing more than an "account" if you will, and people from different departments go in, do their job, file things properly but never really look at the entire context. People were pointing the finger at this guy pretty much as soon as it was clear there was a problem.
Bizarre story all around.
