The future of Ciryl Gane is glorious.

does mcgregor even have "insane standup" without the threat of his power ? dustin dismantled him and cucked him
He still got off some nice clean shots in that 2nd fight though, Dustin had to be very clever defensively and with his timing, and was largely on the back foot- executed his game-plan to perfection though, where as Conor looked like he'd lost the spring in his step he had had prior, largely accused of focusing on his boxing too much and developing a more traditional boxing stance..... Also Let's not pretend the Eddie Alvarez fight didn't happen, it was flawless.

Gane still has a tremendous upside in the heavyweight division. He has a good amount of power, he's just not sitting down on his shots

flawless because of his absurd knockout power idk how the striking would go if he had normal power in his left

Not at all, the finish came in the 2nd round, nothing absurd about that.

He won’t go far KO’ing Tui and Black Beast over and over again. Not much of a threat on the ground. Like able guy, but Gane should get in and out of the UFC just as soon as he fights out his deal, assuming he doesn’t get an insane bump up in guaranteed pay.
Get out of the UFC to do what exactly? Do an opposite Conor and leave the UFC to become a plumber or go on welfare? The guy can and will make $millions. HW are the highest paid UFC fighters. They don’t even need to become the champ. Look at Reem, or Hunto. Those guys got paid close to a million$ per fight.

Obviously learning a ground game would be the best idea. But, he doesn’t even need that in the current HW division. He just needs to not get taken down. Get a decent TDD game. He’s very talented but this last fight has me back where I was before the Lewis fight. He is and probably will remain to be a point fighter. Not exciting but more than adequate enough to become the champ in the HW division.

Just continue to work on becoming a more well rounded fighter. It’s actually that simple from my POV. Just don’t get taken down and he probably wins. But if he can actually learn how to get back up. Then he may never lose again. He will never become a GSP, but he doesn’t have to be in that HW division. TDD is the number 1 priority. Working to get back up if he is taken down is number 2.

His future could and should be bright. It’s hardly the end of the world at this point.

Good luck to him. He’s a nice respectful guy. So I have nothing against him. But he may never be must watch TV. But he doesn’t have to be to become rich or the champ. Just stay the course, and he can be a big deal in the UFC for the next 10+ years.

Ts.. enough brother. Just stop for your own sake. Gane can win some fights but he cant never win against your neurosis.

Its heavy burden to want somebody to have "glorious" future. Just accept him as he is...he is just mortal man, great fighter no doubt.

Life is great adventure because we cant have perfect beings but we can have perfect moments. Gane could win that that title or maybe he will not. Just let him bang bro.

"Glorious" is the wrong word for it. "Promising" or "hopeful" sounds like what you're trying to say.

He went super far as a 10-0 UFC fighter who (somehow, politically) became an interim champ. He looked great, but unproven, even after some good UFC wins, but was ultimately outgrappled by a KO artist. Where does that leave us? With a young 10-1 fighter with a lot of potential, who has fought at the highest levels, and seems to carry a positive attitude. Most promising Prospect Watch candidate we've had in years!

With his skillset, a less mobile Gane but with heavier hands and a more good ground game can be the champion within this year or two, he will have to sacrifice his mobility a bit with that muay thai stance and be more flat footed but with better TDD and grappling threat, your thoughts guys ?
Ngannou took him down with a torn MCL and damaged ACL and controlled him. Gane needs some serious work.

He doesn't really have a MT stance. A MT sgance is generally more flatfooted.

He's Conor McGregor without the KO power... insane stand up, but his flaws in grappling will always be exploited.
No no no, he's Vladimir Klitschko but without Power, kicks and less robotic.

Or maybe he's Greta Thunberg as a black, french fighting man?

Great take.

He needs to up the power on those straight punches in order to defeat Ngannou. Right now Ngannou is not scared and Gane’s straights seem underwhelming, no reason that weight and insane movement shouldn’t translate to hellacious punches

Yes if I was him I would go up 10lbs to 260lbs he is so lean now it shouldnt hurt or make him fat. The added weight if done properly will help as will namely the strength. Change of stance and heavy grappling.

Alternatively he could try to be like Adesanya or Machida whose footwork and running game are so good it helps them avoid the exchange that could lead to grappling

Conor didnt seem to take grappling training serious. Too big of an ego and was weaker than a lot of LWs he face he got overpowered. Chad Mendes is stronger than him if you recall and threw him to the floor easy.
Why put 10lbs extra on a frame that is used to fighting at around 240lbs? He’s already massive, 240lbs is a large heavyweight. Even at 260lbs which is what Francis weighs with a full belly, Francis is still going to Overpower him.

Totally, there is no way he could ever improve.
