Yeah, I think it's wild after such a clear 1st fight, that in the 2nd fight, even with Gane's injury, people wanted Volkov to win. Which would've just made Volkov/Aspinall rematch instead of Gane. Also it's such a weak "revenge" fight for Volkov, it was his chance to prove he's different now and he got outstruck by numbers and out controlled for both rounds.Volkov is so delusional that not only does he believes that there is zero controversy in the Almeida split decision, but get that.... Alex actually believes he got shameleselly robbed in the FIRST Gane fight.
Yes, that one => https://mmadecisions.com/decision/12040/Ciryl-Gane-vs-Alexander-Volkov

Volkov is straight-up delusional with that take, and he was lucky Gane has a broken foot in their rematch (still couldn't finish him though, shamefur dispray, I've scored that fight a draw but officially it's a win).
WAR BON GAMIN GANE
Best striker at HW \o/
The first match has Gane out striking Volkov on the feet 4*/5 rounds, well one round was a tie so you can say 3/5 for sure.
So these guys have gone 8 rounds total. Gane by numbers won 5/8 rounds. Volkov won 2/8 rounds. 1 round is even in numbers. Each fight Gane landed more strikes than Volkov.
Yet every other day you hear about Gane/Volkov like it's a great injustice in the world. It's just straight Gane hate since he lost to Jones. Volkov hasn't looked great, and even still has a major weakness on the ground and is 37.
Ranking wise, after beating Almeida, the only ones above him are Gane or Aspinall, two rematches. If Gane ends up taking the belt I think he'll look more dominant than ever in the 3rd match, if Aspinall keeps the belt then I'm assuming he takes down Volkov like butter again. Man the HW division is so fucked up. Only Pereira moving up or Jones returning even makes it interesting.
