International The former President of Mongolia claps back at Putin’s historical justifications for invading Ukraine

The point is weakness isn't virtue. it would make sense if countries like america or china said that, but they're not. no shit Mongolia ain't attacking anyone, they're not in a position to.

Restraint is respectable when there's power behind it, not when there's impotence.
Don't dream.
Wars are different in their form and number of white slavic origin russians in reality already is declining in Russian Federation....while others are more and more.
Remember real history how georgian g***y Stalin had ruled " russian world "? And they are proud about this history like slaves worshiping foreigner Tzar?
Death comes from inside.

would you keep the same energy If the Natives decided to do some "theoretical chance" and scalp whatever left of your hairline?
They'd need a pretty big canoe to make that trip

Denmark used to rule a lot more than its kid wearing a baseball hat chewing bubblegum portion of land it currently calls Denmark.
Denmark is actually the 11th or 12th biggest country in the world as it owns Greenland and the Faroes.

Some Danes would argue that due to Greenland it's one of the largest. Also, Greenland is an autonomous state of Denmark or territory and geographically a part of the North American continent.

The Russians only have themselves to blame for perceived territorial losses and loss of influence. They overthrew and killed off their own line of Emperors, and then the USSR collapsed in a heap at their direction. There was no foreign invasion or stirred-up rebellion, the smaller countries largely stayed loyal to the Empire/Soviet Union until the end came.
The USSR was dissolved illegally, at the behest of Western oligarchs.
It's really just a matter of Russia not being a stable, dependable ally capable of providing prosperity and security, that has caused all of the countries in its vicinity to look elsewhere for support.
Objectively not true, at least during the Soviet era. All you need to do is look at the historic data of former Soviet bloc countries. Under the Soviets, life expectancies soared, literacy rates soared, home ownership soared, homelessness and hunger were largely reduced. After the USSR collapsed, human misery exploded in these countries. Life expectancies plummeted along with other quality of life indicators.
Thing is, even Finland would love to do good business with Russia to this day, because it's such a huge boon to our economy, but it's just impossible to do business with a country that constantly makes threats and shows hostility towards its neighbours, while breaking prior agreements. Not to mention that Russia's economic power has waned greatly under Putin's direction, to the point where it has become pretty easy to look for other options.
True. Modern day Russia is certainly a shit show.

You can't really blame these mythical "Western oligarchs" for everything. USSR just couldn't keep pace with the Western world, going into the 70s and 80s.

It's objectively true right now. Nobody cares about what happened in the 1960s, let alone the 1600s like Putin is talking about. People care about the here and now.

lol at the thinking they even could in the last 400 years. It's a silly point to make. Until the end of WW2, most every country with the military power to expand their frontiers did so without question. It could be argued nuclear weapons reduced that ambition to spreading influence with proxies while avoiding any head to head conflicts. All the major powers have done this... They're still trying to exert their global power and influence... just indirectly. The US is the just the best at it currently.

And if Mongolia had the military power to spread their frontiers in the last 200-300 years, you don't think they would have?

Of course they would have.

Mongolia asked to be annexed by the USSR and were rejected.
