The fight that defined GSP

A

Jake Shields humiliated Dan Henderson the final 4 rounds of a 5 round fight. Let that sink in.

Yes by doing what he does best which is grapple. He tried standing with dan and almost had his life ended if you remember.

Theres no shame in losing to jake sheilds at all. The guy is a top 30 fighter all time for sure. He has had an amazing career. But i cant recall.a single jake sheilds fight where he beat a guy up.on the feet like the gsp fight.

Would gsp take on romero or.izzy or whittaker.on a days notice? Anderson got up from.his couch at 42 to fight dc to save a card.

The question is would gsp ever do something like that? No of course not he will wait ankther 4 years till cejudo moves up to ww to fight him.

I can understanf gsp fans propping their guy up based on his accomplishments. I get it. I think the guy had a good career and all, but when you start shitting all over anderson to make your points that is just awful. Anderson silva is a legend of the sport and did things in the cage even at 45 years old that are astounding.

Quite honestly gsp is nowhere near andersons level as a goat or fighter. Lets see where georges is at 45. No way hes going to be fighting world champs on a day notice. Its funny he likes to fight the 40 year olds, but he wont be fighting at 40.

The reason why you can’t recall a single Jake Shields fight where he eyepoked a fighter like he did against GSP is because you quiet clearly don’t even watch fights in general

What a hypocrite you are.

Anderson has won 1 fight in about 8 years. Him getting a big fight against DC is not a testament to Anderson taking a challenge. He had nothing to lose. There’s a reason why in his prime he didn’t want to fight Jones or Shogun. Guys like Irvin, Forrest and Bonnar were OK for him to take on though. I wonder why?

IF GSP was in such a losing/winless streak like Anderson I’m certain he would take a fight against Adesanya, Romero or Whittaker. The difference is, unlike Anderson GSP still has a legacy to protect. Anderson’s is completely finished. This is the reality.

Exactly. Anderson nuthuggers love to mention age but forget he roids

But they'll use TRT Vitor, or TRT Henderson when it's a convenient selling point for their narratives.

Apparently steroids and the like are only fountains of youth when it doesn't involve Anderson.

Oh, and GSP is apparently on roids as well, but it didn't give him some crazy fountain of youth to continue fighting well past his prime.

hmmm...yeah... that´s a myth.

vs BJ 1: that pseudo "eye poke" was not from an extended finger, was the result of a left hook [startin´a combo], probably [since 'hidden' angle] a knuckle grazin´ No Rush´s eye.

The 3rd & 4th pic. clearly shows that the fist was closed & the thumb not extended.

But this ´narrative´(originally dropped live by Rogan who´s always had [historically] a limited understandin´of the technical sequences (see how he assesses [supposedly] 'tight' subz...) has always been used by the No Rush fanbase as an excuse for his shortcomings in that fight.

The reality: No Rush´s strikin´& [then] limited skill set was exposed in that fight, & against... an undersized opponent.

It iz what it iz.
YOU JUST STAY IN THE CONTENDERS BUDDY

There is so much wrong with what you write yet it only solidifies my point. The point being that anderson at 42 out of shape got up off his couch to put on an absolute show for the fans against one of the 10 greatest mixed martial artists of all time and at that time and now a top 1 or 2 in two different divisions. You mention georges not fightng to protect his legacy and there we have the problem. Georges has always played Jor-El and fought inside a fotress of solitude. Dude has built a glass legacy abd i have proven time and time again how shaky it truly is.

Gsp was a very good fighter and held the belt for a while but again hes not on an anderson silva, fedor or bones level.

lol after that fight GSP tooled every opponent in every fight he fought until Hendricks. Dude won like 35 rounds in a row.

A shame that there are people that just can't appreciate greatness. D1 wrestlers were getting wrestlefucked by him and his background was in fucking karate lmao

GSP is a genius. He took the least amount of damage of any fighter that has a resume like his. Now he can live the rest of his life without CTE (hopefully), healthy, and with pure dominance as a legacy to boot.

Do you even read posts?

I already explained that Anderson taking a fight with DC is not a testament to his bravery. He essentially was awarded a fight with DC where he had absolutely nothing to lose because he was 0-3-1. That was his record going into the DC fight.

What show did he put on by the way? He got easily beat. Got the pay check he wanted. That’s it. Oh and another loss

Why didn’t Anderson fight Jones or Shogun when he was in his prime?

GSP thought he was a solid striker, he also thought Matt Serra was a big can and decided he will play around for a round, to test his striking skills. He didn't go for a single take down, he thought this fight is too easy and a good opportunity to test his striking skills, maybe get a nice KO highlight.

He never fought on his feet again. This was the last time he played the striker. In the rematch he would take Serra down in the first 2 seconds and repeatedly take him down when Serra stood up.
This was the fight that turned GSP into the ufc wrestling control freak and according to many the most boring ufc champ to this day with 0 finishes.

Yep. He became pretty cowardly after this.

That’s how GSP always thought before this fight, ultra aggressive, calculated, unstoppable
Him slipping vs Serra was ridiculous, I thought he would just stop spitting so much water into his corner, but instead he completely changed his style

Thats not fair because GSP didn't juice like Silva to extend his career by 10 years.

and how did GSP look under usada compated to pre usada? Let me remind you

4 years away from the sport with at least 2 surgeries in between. And he still came back and finished Bisping.

Keep trying.
