WTF at the initial reactions ITT to the trailer? "Amazing trailer" "Awesome trailer"....

It looks awful. You have to be the same person who actually enjoyed MCU phase 4 and 5 to get excited over that trailer.

Oh and the jokes in the beginning were really cringey.

- Most of those Marvel movies under Disney suchs and are all the same. But they gain surprising good reviews.

If you've seen the previous 2 FF movies (3 even) then its easy to see how much more thought went into this movie.
We used to cry ourselves to sleep about cloud-Galactus, andnow we have him walking up Yancy Street! Its a good day.

From Cloud Galactus to female Silver Surfer.

They're still having trouble giving us a proper F4 film.

It's just so hard to get excited about starting another multi film connected universe where each film has to set up 2 or more other films rather than simply making a good film on its own merits.
Even if it's well executed, we've still seen it all already so many times that they're basically out of shit
And, tbf no one I knew growing up fucked with F4 so there's no baked in nostalgia love for these characters outside of hardcore comics fans.

If you're excited for Doom, Secret Wars etc. Then I hope they deliver something stellar with this movie that can bring fans back around.

Personally I think the run from Iron Man to Infinty War was bookended by great films with a lot of "serviceable at best" films inbetween, with IW being a particular stand out. But the CU concept of everything tying everything else together is a gimmick, and they should be grateful it was a money printer the first go around.

But it's still a gimmick, with diminishing returns with each new iteration

Yeah this movie looks horrible, they really need to stop remaking shit over and over again. I just saw a preview for that Thunderbolts move and that looks awful as well, the super hero shit needs to go away. Mediocrity is all that matters and GET THE BAG by any means necessary. Churn out dogshit movies over and over because people are willing to pay for it.

Taking an existing character and just making him female is idiotic. But they're doing it on purpose now, to create rage bait and get free publicity.

I agree that if this were just a stand alone movie or franchise that wasn't planned on being intertwined with a multiverse collapse storyline then they should have just gone with Nova if they wanted a female Herald. But as a multiverse twist, it makes perfect sense for Shall-Bal to have become Galactus' herald in of the billions of alternate realities, as she did in Earth-8327's universe (only she was called Starglow). Frankie Ray was Nova. This is fine. I do think Nova would still have been better, but if they do go back to Norin Radd at some point this will have been the better choice to highlight multiverse stuff.

Another thing; I like this actress, I think she's really talented; I think other Heralds would have offered her a better opportunity to shine: Nova, or a gender swapped Air-Walker, Firelord might have been better choices for her.
