Multiplat The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered Discussion

so i got my intelligence and willpower sapped from some enemy and i cant use the chapel altar to clear it because i went on a robbing spree and my infamy is now much higher than my fame so now i gotta do this pilgrimage quest to activate all the wayshrines in cyrodil just so i can fix this shit. ughh.

I chose Adept difficulty. I’m getting murdered at every encounter.

i got fucked up by a unicorn after killing a bunch of big ass minotaurs. feels humbling.

i picked up its horn after i disposed of it and it turns out its part of some quest.

talos be praised! my sins have been forgiven. my stats are now unfucked. it's time to loot and plunder!

my first order of business after joining the mages guild? take every god damn item in the mages guilds and sell it for gold.

chorrol's mages guild just got cleaned out by a naked man. library and all. made off with around 2500 gold, some soul gems and alch ingredients. not a bad haul. 1 down 6 to go,

alright, all of my mages guild plundering netted me 10k in gold. that'll buy me a house. maybe i'll spend the rest on skooma, mead, and cheap wine.

For those who haven't played the original in 17+ years and forgot about this extremely useful item... don't wait too long to get this.

Given that it took me quite a while to get the lockpicking down...again, I don't want it. LOL.

Roleplaying as yourself? <28>

I just picture a beer gutted and unwashed version of Stone Cold Steve Austin, running around Cyrodil stilling things in his skid marked undies.

that was pretty much it. i stashed all my shit and was running around in my skimmies because nobody likes to be over encumbered when they're out there pillaging.

despite starting with a 0/500 carry capacity i still had to make multiple trips to clean out the chorrol mages guild. the others weren't really so bad, but i literally walked out of there with a whole fucking library.

I am rocking around with a bow and short sword, poisoning my arrows and then overwhelming them.

Combat feels better in this. I am genuinely enjoying it and will be doing the Dark brotherhood questline after I do the Arena.

you can get your security to 100 in a matter of minutes just by finding a locked container or door, getting the first pin correct, keeping the tumbler over that pin and then just mashing a or x on your controller over and over.

i have no shame in that. i also rubber banded my shit to get my sneak to 100 after stealing an inkroll and going to jail. took about two hockey games to get it all done.

acrobatics is being rough. i've almost got it to 70 and this is after jumping literally everywhere i go. it's still gonna take a while to max that out i figure because the levels are coming much slower now.

i've been putting off the dark brotherhood until i hit level 30 which should be any day now. alot of their quests give leveled items as rewards.

I plan on just doing a new character for each main quest. I am hoping Bethesda chases the money grab and redoes Morrowind next.

I think that would be a tougher sell without straight up remaking it. "Oblivion" is just modern enough that it still feels good and natural to play, and they can get away with a new coat of paint and leaving the game as is. "Morrowind" is a true relic and would need some serious retooling. The weird D&D combat alone would drive new players crazy. It's a pretty rigid game by modern standards.

They will be chasing that money grab, though. Not to mention getting back in the good graces of gamers. "Fallout 3" remastered is definitely in the cooker. Wouldn't be surprised if it dropped later this year.

Damn. I had no idea about this. Time to start closing some gates and battling Cameron again.

found a spot to cheese my acrobatics while also juicing my restoration to 80 by slamming the major respite spell to restore stamina.

in bruma directly across from ongar the fence's house is the jearls house. theres a fence (closest to the tree) that you can jump up on with a roof above it. so your jumps only last a millisecond before your next jump and you can just smash jump over and over while slamming respite. then when you're sapped of magic and stamina just quick rest and repeat.

took about 20 minutes. got a few more character levels out of it too.

restoration now maxed. life is good.

i was going to google this to see if it was in the game but then i forgot.

i actually prefer the lockpicking in oblivion over skyrim because after you get the timing down you can pretty much open any lock regardless of your security level and you don't need to carry around any lockpicking rings, potions, or gear. but once you master security the lockpicking becomes trivial because the pins don't drop when you fail.

regardless, obtaining the skeleton key will be on my agenda this morning after i'm done power leveling my alteration/conjuration/mysticism/illusion a little. all stats i don't really give much of a shit about but since i already got them to 25 and it got me up a level i may as well get em to 50. all i really have to do is spam r1 on the controller while i do some shit on the other computer. easy cheesy.

i've almost hit level 30 now which is what i'm going for so then i don't have to give a shit about what quests i'm doing or where i am going because of the leveled item bullshit. so power levelling random skills is getting me there, at the expense of much harder enemies that i'm not really geared for yet.

there seems to be a helmet shortage across cyrodil. i've got the full daedric set except i'm still rocking a steel helmet as that's the best i've been able to find....and i bought it from a merchant lol.

i'm about ready to prostitute myself for a better helm.
