The disrespect for Stipe is unreal, and honestly, I’m not surprised coming from Tom’s fans.

Stipe fought Cormier three times, man. I don’t think people realize how good Cormier really was. The fact that people were already putting Tom above Stipe is just wild to me — straight-up disrespect.

I’m being honest here — I’ve got nothing against Tom. He seems like a genuinely good guy. But his fanbase? Absolutely disgusting. No respect for you guys, you don’t know sh*t.

Stipe was that man at some point. If you were there, you remember.

It took Tom a lot longer to beat a much weaker version of Arlovski. Stipe definitely is underrated by some.

Arlovski won 2 fights in the 9 months prior to his fight with Aspinall. Stipe's last win prior to the Jones fight was 4.5 years.

Tom was going back and forth in the stand up with the weakest version of arlovski the octagon had ever seen. Go watch his fights around that time. Stipe obliterated a better version of Andrei.

I was confused about what your argument was. You're saying 2016 Stipe is better than 2021 Aspinall based on their performances vs Arlovski. I get it now.

I guess I'd say comparing one fight alone is a pretty silly way to gauge fighters, but this argument by you at least makes more sense logically than what I thought you were trying to say.

Stipe looked terrible vs Jones, like we ALL said he would. Jon cherry picked 45 year old Stipe. That’s all there is to it. Sure Stipe was a good champion back in his day. Did he cash in his own brand by fighting Jones the way he did? It could be argued. He legitimised a career long steroid cheats claim to being the best ever, and he did it for a fat pay day knowing he was finished as a fighter. I could never respect that.
