The Disrespect for Stipe Is Unreal — and I’m Not Surprised Coming from Tom’s Fans

Stipe was my favorite UFC HW champ. Was in nothing but exciting fights that usually ended with him flatlining the other guy. He was willing to go life and death to win and never ducked anyone.

Stipe fought Cormier three times, man. I don’t think people realize how good Cormier really was. The fact that people were already putting Tom above Stipe is just wild to me — straight-up disrespect.

I’m being honest here — I’ve got nothing against Tom. He seems like a genuinely good guy. But his fanbase? Absolutely disgusting. No respect for you guys, you don’t know sh*t.

Stipe was that man at some point. If you were there, you remember.

I can't say that I've heard many serious claims that Tom is above Stipe...but whoever is saying that is insane and not even worth debating, IMHO.

I'm a fan of Tom, and kind of indifferent towards Stipe, tbh...but the fact that Stipe has more title defenses and a far superior resume should end any discussion.

Nobody asked if people were "bashing Stipe". People were being honest about where Stipe was at when he stepped into the cage with Jones.

I don't think I've seen any Tom fans try and say Stipe wasn't good and I don't really think it's fair to blanket ALL Tom fans as toxic. From what I see there are Tom fans and Tom fan boys. The Tom fans are ones who are fans of him but don't have an unrealistic view of him, where as the Tom Fan boys not only have an unrealistic view of him but also worship the ground he walks on. The latter are the worst kind of Tom fans.

The gaslighting around here has been absurd. I'd never used the ignore button before like Monday, and when I did the entire first page changed bc dude's 10 threads disappeared, which were essentially the same OP recycled 10 times and worded differently.

I wont judge you. I actually spoke with like 10 different guys that have Tom over Stipe at HW. I think this is crazy. But recent bias is a real thing.

Prime for prime I'll take Aspinall. It's mostly based on what I see as a pretty significant speed advantage. I think his combination of speed and power probably lets him find Stipe's chin at some point. But there's obviously a ton of conjecture with the prediction. I'm not making some unwavering declaration that I plant my flag on and refuse to listen to an alternative view.

Who's done more? It's Stipe for sure. Multiple title defenses. Better wins (not necessarily Aspinall's fault but still the reality).
