But you basically find the sites you want (probs a commodity market like abacus) and you find a way to get to dread or whatever on the regular internet. Then once you have the link for dread you type that in tor and go right to the abacus forum. But what do I know

Has anyone ever ventured down the rabbit hole? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

For me, it started off as camping talk. Friends were all curious as to what it was about. I was the only one with the know how to pull it off, so I dove in one day.

It was terrifying.

When I first ventured into the net back in the mid 90s, sex was the first thing I typed. I was a teenager. What else is there!?

The dark web however is this endless well of depravity so vile, that it would make the most hardened people spew. It is not easy to navigate and you will need some form of crypto currency to bypass some sites, if you even dare to.

Im not gonna get into details the depths of what I found, but after a little over an hour of venturing, I shut it down and never went back. Never will. It was insane and im utterly shocked that it flourishes without intervention. Although I suppose theres little that can be done about it tbh.

About 15 years ago a friend who is a well-known, googleable news expert, and hacks for a living, but on the good side now, spent a bit of time on the deep web with a ghost laptop he built.

Everything you heard about was there from fake IDs, drugs and unacceptable porn to guns, personal information, credit card and SS numbers.

It was extremely difficult to navigate and you either "had to know" where to find things or talk to people that would direct you. We went on the silk road and a bunch of other similar sites.

We were tempted to buy fake passports, just to see if they were real, but didn't because my buddy had already had issues with the FBI and I was involved with a few gray area businesses at the time.
