Social The daily "AOC says something stupid on Twitter" thread.

Ya and I had at least 6 people who are constantly saying she says dumb things try and they all failed. Time and again they would pull up something from her twitter, say it was dumb based on how they explained but were unable to "quote" what was dumb as I do with the Trump quote above.

It was almost always their interpretation they attributed to her and then called dumb.

See the tweet quoted just above and quote what is dumb there?

I don't really need to . . . this guy already has . . .

I am not sure what you the point is? Is it she made a mistake on the cost and therefore that is stupid?

If you ask me what a big mac costs and I say "$3 and turns out I am wrong, is that stupid?

This seems like a perfect example of what I pointed out so I hope you try and explain.

If you're unable to read the second tweet to get the point then I'm sorry . . . nothing I say will change your already made up mind.

Enjoy the rest of you day being obtuse . . .

Yup.

i'll add you to unable to quote list,

Funny how it is so easy with Trump and no need to give an ounce of what someone else assumes he means. His comments are stupid based on actual words in the quote, quoted verbatim.

I mean

"They are big, very deep. Record deepness, right? " Trump said.

“I’ll just close the border, and with a deficit like we have with Mexico and have had for many years, closing the border will be a profit-making operation,” Trump said,

Whoop there it is. No explanation necessary. Stupid on there face.

How about this 22nd ammendment news it turns out she was right. They first put the process in place before FDR's death in 1944 before his death. It was before that is key to her statement. It's historians so it may as well be Aliens to Trump supporters because history is only a punch line to them.

"
However, some eagle-eyed social media commenters pointed out that the original architects of the 22nd Amendment were inspired by Roosevelt’s monopoly on the White House and began campaigning long before his death.

“FDR did die in office in ‘45 and the 22nd amendment did come in ‘47 but Congress did start the legislative process in 1944 prior to his death so that he would not be reelected,” another Twitter user wrote in Ocasio-Cortez’s defense. “It was not ratified soon enough and he won in ‘44. AOC did not misspeak, friends.”

The National Constitution Center also had Ocasio-Cortez’s back. On its website, the nonpartisan organization explained: “Talk about a presidential term-limits amendment started in 1944, when Republican candidate Thomas Dewey said a potential 16-year term for Roosevelt was a threat to democracy."

Mentally stable people don't wish for bad things out of spite. Get help.
Lol that's golden from a Trump supporter. Trump pretty much wishes bad things on people pretty regularly. With statements like take him outside don't worry I will pay for your legal fees

This is facts not wishes from someone who has lived through 4 Republican fueled bank crashes.

Yes mike. When someone is asked questions like “what’s the cost of something” and keeps giving wrong answers, and they also can’t perform basic math, we call them stupid.

If by fuming, you mean hoping she becomes the face of the democrat party, than yes.

Ask NYC how they feel about her costing them jobs and a boat load of economic benefits.

Yup.

i'll add you to unable to quote list,

That's cool . . . you're pretty good at completely ignoring stuff anyway . . . I'm not going to read it for you.

If you can't do a little research to see the related tweets specifically discussing the one you asked about I can't help you . . .

That's cool and all . . . but sometimes you have to actually try to read and understand the point behind a tweet and the overall subject being discussed . . .

Whoop . . . *their

I mean seriously Mike . . . she was whining about the price people pay for food to make a point about a lack of sufficient wages for an airport that was currently paying more than her arbitrary number.

Except wasn't FDR exempt? I thought something was mentioned about not being applicable to the current POTUS?

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President, when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term."
Sure looks like as soon as it was enacted the sitting President would be effected by said amendment.

I was specifically referring to FDR dude . . . he wasn't around when this was enacted and made an Amendment.

Ok, lets just say Trump is P4P number 1. AOC is the young lion fighting her way up the ranks. Even Floyd Mayweather was a prospect at one point.

AOC is a hybrid Erick Silva & Platinum Mike.

Yes but when they where writing the amendment while he was in office he may have passed but he was alive when it was first discussed.

It's an amendment but thought like it seems to be applied here LOL..

I don't think she's necessarily stupid in this case. You have to admit though this is an area (minimum wage/standard of living) that is a prominent political talking point for her and she's tweeting false information to her followers to get them worked up. That's a pretty sketchy image, when a politician provides false information to make a point about some issue that is dear to them. You can think they're opportunistic liars, stupid, or just made a genuine slip, take your pick. I think there is a very good chance she made a genuine slip and tweeted something she hadn't fully verified, but my thought on that is "Verify before you talk - your voice has lots of people listening to it." I can understand people thinking she's either stupid or a liar though and, frankly, both are possible. She is slowly but surely building a track record for tweeting/saying things that are half truths or outright falsehoods.

As for how we generally react to things like this, consider it. If Trump rambles on about clean coal and then gives an outright false number concerning something related to it that makes coal power look good, we'll call him an outright liar - as it should be. Actually, he does stuff like that all the time and we (rightly) call him either a liar or an idiot for it. Even if we give her the benefit of the doubt, and even if she's not nearly as bad as Trump, I think her repeated gaffes are eyebrow raising. How often does she get to have these gaffes before we take the stance of "can you start double checking that what you're about to tweet is accurate before you say it?" This isn't exactly an isolated incident.

Quote please.
