No it was a snoozer. All the fight was Belal doing just enough pitter patter to back Leon up against the cage and then go for the crotch sniff. At no point was Belal trying to finish with GnP or a sub. Only till the last 30 seconds did someone try to finish the fight with some GnP.

I have to admit that I didn't think he'd ever climb that mountain. I get the feeling Dana thought he could by denying him the chance for so long.

Look, the guy is boring as batshit to watch. He is easily the most boring champion to watch in the UFC today and by a fair margin too., If every champion in the UFC fought with a Belal-like style, stocks in the company would dip dramatically.

As boring as he is, I have to give him kudos as well. He has certainly travelled the long distance route to get the belt and deserves the belt for staying the course and never giving up despite the incredible amount of road blocks put in front of him. I'll also give him kudos for sticking to his "style". It is fucking boring to watch........but it is now upto future opponents to overcome a fighter who would be an absolute pain in the ass to fight.

I hope he stays on top for a LONG time to piss Dana off. Dana will throw every killer he can find to dethrone him.

Sorry Belal is boring as shit and doesn't entertain at all.
He is very skilled but he is so fucking dull that I really don't care to ever watch him fight. I checked the results this morning. I haven't watched a full fight of his since he beat Damian Maia. Most of the time I watch something else while his fights are happening because there's really nothing exciting going on. I legitimately do not know how anyone can be a fan of his style.

I think he should drop the stupid "bad guy" turn he is trying because it doesn't work. Doesn't fit him. He can't trash talk and comes off as cringey. I don't know for sure, but I feel he probably realizes his style isn't very thrilling to watch. It would behoove him not to make himself disliked by fans.

Not sure how long he will keep the belt. I think the UFC will put Shavkat against him next. Maybe they'll even try to give Garry a shot next.

yeah, he knocked out future contender Thiago Alves and had a few RNC wins leading up to the fight. Belal did have that one TKO but I don't think he had many other finishes leading up to his successful championship run.
