The Anime and Manga Thread v48

I haven't been watching, but I've seen some screencaps of the new One Punch Man season and holy shit is it bad. In one example there was a dude sitting in a meeting and the top of his hair was inexplicably cut off like it had gone out of frame...turns out it was because they just traced the manga panel and that's where the manga panel ended and they couldn't be bothered to extend the drawing to fill the frame (it would have just been a handful of curves, take a skilled artist maybe two minutes).
In that meeting they show a hologram of a monster (centupiro?)

In the manga it's animated. It moves. In the Anime it's still.

Somehow the anime is less animated than the manga.

Amazon Prime had Voltron Ep 1 SD digital for $0. What else do they have for $0?

Did you guys see this fan made animation that he pulled off in 4 days? Hire this man to take over and put together a team!

Just giving another shoutout to one of the more unique takes on martial arts series. It's been going for a year now and has had some really interesting developments and the way it does sci-fi/martial-arts fusion is unlike anything else I can think of.

Running out of stuff to read. Will bookmark this.

All 291 episodes of DBZ color corrected and with basically every audio option you can think of.

<DCWhoa>

I finally got around to watching the Chainsaw Man movie. It's been glazed so heavily that I probably don't have anything new to say about it at this point, but it lives up to the hype.

I do wanna put the spotlight on Kensuke Ushio for a second though. It just dawned on me that he's been responsible for a disproportionately large number of my favorite anime soundtracks over the last decade. Chainsaw Man, Devilman Crybaby, A Silent Voice, Dandadan, and probably a few others if I looked into it.

SENTENCED TO BE A HERO

It's a dark fantasy anime that blew me away with its animation in the first episode. The animation is fantastic, reminded me of the same great animation quality and artwork as Mushoku Tensei. The first episode also felt like a season finale with the huge battle with a demon lord. Hope the animation quality is consistent throughout the season. This might turn out to be the best original (non-sequel) anime for the winter 2026 season.

This is the anime of the season, imo. It captures the 90s feel for me. Soldiers getting diced up with a light saber while beautiful jazz fusion is playing in the background. Also, they legalized degeneracy.

I'm with you on Dusk Beyond the End of the World. First episode looked great. Animation was top quality. The artwork and character design reminded of anime from the 90s. But I became disappointed with the show when the episodes focused more on Ehlsea and marriage and whatnot. I think I stopped around episode 6. Will try to power through season one of these days.

I stopped at episode 4. Sentenced to be a Hero is the new hotness this season. The art and animations is eerily similar to Mushoku Tensei.
