The Anime and Manga Thread v48

@JBSchroeds Have you ever read manga by Yukinobu Hoshino he has some really cool Hard science fiction type of manga that is very unique and very underappreciated imo. I'm probably gonna read his stuff again,
I can't say that I have. It looks like he mostly does short stories and I only see a few of his works are scanlated. There's a few that look like they've been done so I'll add them to my list to check out.

Man I feel bad for the blue balls Black Clover fans have had to endure the last few years. Started the movie last night, didn't like a couple of the plot holes it started off with.

I’ve been watching Kaiji : Ultimate Survivor this past week and it is one of the best Anime I’ve seen in a long time. It is just a better version of Squid Game (who ripped off the premise). Fantastic story and character development. It’s definitely an oldie but goodie. I’m shocked that I never took the time to watch it until now.

The first time I watched Kaiji it made such a strong impression that it stayed in my mind for weeks: it was truly like nothing else I had ever experienced. If I'm not misunderstanding it, it basically created a "high-stakes, extraordinary gambling" genre, sort of like Tolkien creating fantasy with LOTR and likewise have had many imitators. Nothing wrong with taking inspiration of course, but while never having watched Squid Game, so did I nevertheless hear that it was rather shameless about it.

Just binged chainsaw man. It’s like a better version of jujutsu Kaisen imo. Really tight writing, short and sweet season. 10/10. Humor was on point too.

Should I even watch this new season of my hero academia? I’m kinda over the show and it’s been so long I don’t even remember what happened in season 4 or 5. I have to watch a recap YouTube video but man it doesn’t seem very enticing anymore

I’d say most people consider chainsaw man better. From what I’ve read online.

I don’t even understand how the shit works honestly, like it’s a little too complicated for my feeble mind. Plus I could give a fuck about the side characters in jujutsu kaisen

I do think people consider Chainsaw man better but people have also been wanting it to get an anime for years. JJK kind of came out of nowhere it felt like that anyways. I would say they are about even for me.

I'm not a manga reader or a hardcore anime enthusiast, but personally I think JJK is better than Chainsaw Man in terms of the anime. Luckily it's not a competition and I can enjoy both.
