The Anime and Manga Thread v48

The last two episodes of I Parry Everything (episode 7 & 8) were pretty good. But I have a feeling the next episode will be filled with more talking and internal dialogue with less to no action.

Just finished Vinland Saga season 2
That shit was fucking TERRIBLE

I thought it was a good season if it would have lead to a more realistic ending. I read online that he pretty much stays that same person for the rest of the series and I'm sorry but that just makes no sense in a Viking world.

Darling is pretty recent but is way too weird and horny for me.

I just rewatched Darling and it's great. The horny stuff in anime really bothers me to and I've stopped watching a lot of anime because of it. In Darling though it has a deeper meaning that you aren't made aware of until much later in the show. When I rewatched it you realize how many little hints the show drops throughout the episodes about what's going on.

I started one anime about heroes vs demons I think it was. Had a cool interesting concept. Next thing I now the main female gets a spell cast on her that makes her super horny and the only way to get rid of the magic is to get her off. I was like nope I'm out.

The entire point of the series has been how much the viking world sucks. How Thorfin got sucked into the cycle of violence despite his father's attempt to escape it, and then Thorfin's eventual realization of what his father was trying to accomplish and setting out to try and make at least a small part of the world away from all the fighting. Having the Farmland Saga arc end with Thorfin going right back to violence would have undermined the entire point.

I caved in and watched it last night. It’s a fun show, but I agree that I don’t think he'll parry anything on the next episode. They will probably have a celebration before they go out on their journey again. I’m curious what he will parry next though lol.

Oh I understand exactly what the point was it's just a dumb point. I thought he was going to land somewhere in the middle like his dad did. His dad was not some guy who just sat around and let people beat the piss out of him. He hurt people without killing them.

He was a psycho who literally was killing anyone and everyone just on orders. Then he wouldn't even dare kill anyone no matter what was happening. There's an in between there that I was hoping the show would land on but from what I read he pretty much just sticks with the same thing he was doing on the farm.

I'd suggest you read it for yourself, because I'm not sure I'd trust whatever source you got your info from. He doesn't continue to just let people beat the crap out of him at every turn (the farm arc is the character at his lowest point), and his philosophy of non-violence is tested in unexpected ways.

I'm not a fan of manga honestly. I'll just wait for the next season and see for myself. I didn't think the season was bad and enjoyed the character growth but what I read online didn't seem like a good direction for the show to go IMO. Seems like you're saying it doesn't go exactly like that so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Got burned out by the manga but I was able to get out of the farmland arc. The son of their village bully had a better character development, imo.

Damn, I guess he will just keep parrying :p

Episode 10: I Parry Saitama

Ok, I Parry Everything episode 9 was surprisingly satisfying. I thought they were going to chill for one episode (so I guess it's going to happen next episode).

you were looking for a slow episode, so there you have it, ep 10, I parry common sense, still going hard on that theme..........

as a side note, surprised no one has mentioned "The Fable"....... what a fantastic anime, quirky humor, great characters, funny storylines, really underrated show.

Found another pretty fun anime with a pretty dumb OP main character. I'm always a sucker for these type of cliche shonen animes...

Love these trash anime’s, not sorry. Add wisteria wand and sword, failure frame, and I parry everything to the list….. almost forgot lelouche roze…. The one Dragonlord mentioned, Gate, was really fun as well.

I finally broke down and decided to give Delicious in Dungeon a shot. I'm glad I did. I'm loving it so far. The elf girl is the best character, followed closely by the autistic human and dwarf. The only character I don't really like is Chillcuck. I wish he'd just fucking die.
