Also Black Butler is kinda yaoi bait. I watched it before I knew much about anime fans. I learned a little more about anime and realized the fandom is all girls who are into boylove shit. Reddit has ruined my perception of anime. I used to be a dude who just liked to watch characters throw down. Now I gotta double check to see if I am not part of some degenerate shit.

Yea it’s awesome. Dude is deaf but he does drugs to fight other mutants. There are also random prostitutes.

The author can honestly delegate her work to an apprentice and keep the story going. She is kinda angry though. Her tweets are a bit bitter. I feel for her

Yeah, it's a shame because the story was great, but it seems she's going the route of, if I can't do it no one can have it.

...have either of you ever pursued any kind of creative work? Honest question. Because the act of creation can be intensely personal for some people. Terry Pratchett famously had all his unfinished works destroyed by a trusted friend after his death. Was that some kind of temper tantrum?

Yeah, it's a shame because the story was great, but it seems she's going the route of, if I can't do it no one can have it.

I hope she gets a little better. She is working out now. Her amazon wish list contains workout gear and whey protein.

Yes I have, and if it was my personal work and I had created a story that thousands of people had invested in I would do everything I could to have that story completed for them, regardless of if I could draw it anymore. Unfinished work being destroyed after you die is fair enough, he didn't want anyone trying to complete his vision without his guidance and I doubt anyone could capture Terry Pratchett's vision. She however isn't dead, she has multiple assistants who have helped her in the past, but she is understandably bitter at the world as I would be if I had aggressive lupus that had cost me the sight in on eye and paralysis in both hands that she has currently pushed through to learn how to draw again.

Edit: Granted my work in writing and drawing are nowhere near her level of quality so it's probably not as personal for me, I'm not what you would call an artist.

"She has an assistant" is a bad take. Why doesn't JRR Martin just hire an assistant, explain his plans for GoT, and have that person write out the ideas for him? Surely Martin can just give critiques along the way so that the assistant can produce his exact vision. And I'm sure the process will produce the same satisfaction of having done it himself, and fulfill that same creative desire. Right?

I think you misunderstood my conversation with Woldog. We are both fans of the series. We are a bit bummed out that she isn't continuing it? It's understandable since she is very sick. Manga artists choose a successor or have a team when they get old or can't draw anymore. It's a choice someone can make. If she doesn't want to do it. We as fans can be disappointed.

I read that as a fundamental misunderstanding of how some artist's process works, and saying she seems 'angry' and 'bitter' struck me as incredibly demeaning to her situation. I think that she's moved to a more work-for-hire piece as she's worked on recovery rather than continue with Gangsta only reinforces how different she feels about that work. The two of you seemed to be expressing a feeling that she "just needs to give it to her assistants so that we, the audience, can have our need for entertainment be sated -- her needs for creative fulfillment be damned."

If she does it or not. It's her choice. None of us said anything negative about her. Go look at her tweets. She is obviously suffering and not in a good mood. If I make a comment like oh she seems angry. I am not trying to demean her in any way. You just went on a tangent about creative fulfillment and temper tantrums. I apologize for being a lowly consumer. I am not as in tuned with creatives like you are.

You are reading way too deep in this situation. Would you get angry too if I make a comment like Watchdog Tokyo is like the spiritual successor to Gangsta. The art is very similar.
