The Anime and Manga Thread v47

Would you get angry too if I make a comment like Watchdog Tokyo is like the spiritual successor to Gangsta. The art is very similar.
Uhhhh, no? Why would I? And I've not read it. Does it cover similar themes? Have similar characters? It might well be a spiritual successor, I have no idea. If so, good for her on finding a creative outlet that scratches the same itches without necessarily requiring the same emotional investment.

Syuhei is the assistant that drew Gangsta prequel in 2015. She also wrote part of the story. Watchdog Tokyo is her own series. You seem like a big fan of Gangsta. Go check it out.

Ah, there it is. I understand the problem now. Ok, yeah: part of this is definitely my fuckup. I am absolutely terrible with names, even worse with ones from non-english cultures. This post:
She has an assistant. It seems like she moved on to doing Watchdogs the video game anime.

You seem to be switching who 'she' is referencing sentence-to-sentence. 'She' in the first sentence is Kosuke. 'She' in the second sentence is the assistant, and the link is then to the assistant's twitter. I did not notice the name shift in the link (because I know neither name off-hand), thinking you were giving examples of Kosuke making 'angry' or 'bitter' posts. I pretty much never keep up with any individual creator as to what they're working on, I just read something and if I like it I'll bookmark it. So I thought you were saying Kosuke was doing Watchdog as a sort of rehabilitation series to work on something that wasn't her own IP and only focus on drawing again, not realizing it was a different author who was her former assistant.

So, while I still think that the "just have an assistant do it under supervision" expressed in post #611 is a poor take on the situation, the reply specifically to post #616 is my mistake. I thought you were making a stronger argument than you actually were and I apologize

Moving on I just started Noragami for the first time, I'm enjoying it, the humour has shades of Gintama, obviously not as focused on comedy as Gintama but it definitely has that offbeat sense of humour.

@turbotime Bruh. I looked up the first compilation of the show you recommended.

Also Black Butler is kinda yaoi bait. I watched it before I knew much about anime fans. I learned a little more about anime and realized the fandom is all girls who are into boylove shit. Reddit has ruined my perception of anime. I used to be a dude who just liked to watch characters throw down. Now I gotta double check to see if I am not part of some degenerate shit.

Let Yuri figure skate, he was born to do it! But yeah Hentai and all that is just weird. Ever see this? Asians are kinda odd, one of my good pals Japanese and my ex, and they dress like a Tekken character lol

Why because a man can't skate? Let the man work. If you must know I was watching while I was screwing my girl to Mars.

You read the manga or watch the anime brada? I have read some people recommending it, probably will see it after I finish HxH.

I'm watching the Anime, I read the manga for some things, but I'm running out of anime's to watch on Crunchyroll and it was one of the few well known ones I hadn't watched yet.

The opening lyrics hilarious. Only cultured men watch this bradas @NoSmilez @Flower2dPeople

@Woldog Judging by this opening alone, I think this is better story than Koe no Katachi already. :p

I sort of watched the whole thing last night. I watched the first 15 min then it autoplayed rest of the series while I slept. I woke up for the last 5 min ending.

Just read it now. That tall guy is such a trip. Somebody like that would be infuriating to have to deal with IRL, but makes for a fun side character.
What do you think about the possibility of the Hyoudou Pair breaking up? And was this the first time Tatara talks about his mother, and the reason why he doesn’t tell his dad? I’d have to check the earlier chapters, but it makes sense why he believes his dad would disapprove.

Have you watched Gangsta yet? That was great until the studio went broke and the author started her slow process of dying.

Why does it feel like so many the manga artist are sick or dying?

Because they work long hours sitting still, smoking and drinking coffee or energy drinks. That's why a lot of them seem to die in their 50's as well.
They could've hired interns from art colleges instead of full-time assistants if price is the only thing that prohibits them from getting help.
