The #7 HW in the rankings takes 865,000 $.

Fuck....no wonder Reem keeps fighting and doesn’t complain.
<YayKpop>
I’d get KO’d by Francis for 800,000

Only on sherdog do people complain that the fighters don't make enough money, but then complain at the fighters who make a lot of money

That's the point of the thread actually.
Too big pay discrepance.

You should make a thread complaining about why more fighters don't get paid like Reem. He managed his career right. Hespect.

.. flat ... against a borderline top 10 fighter.
Where is the logic?
How much must the #1,2,3,4,5 take?

inbefore somebody says popularity.
Reem has been knocked out too many times to be a big star.
Knocked out too many times to be a big star? You can't be serious. You seriously can't be serious.

if you want to make more money sell tickets. TS probably complains about ppl at his job making more money than him too. Complaining gets you nowhere, make shit happen Goofus

It appears you have been knocked out too many times to be confused by something this simple...

Overeem is a global star in combat sports, the pay scale has, and likely always will, pay for the name before it pays for the performance. Why do you think Connor makes twice as much as Khabib despite rankings? Why Anderson Silva makes more than Gastelum despite the rankings? When you forge your name in combat sports in such a global way, you get paid, because if the UFC won't, someone else will. There is a price to be paid to not only get such fighters to fight under your banner, but to also keep them out of your competition's hands.

UFC is the monopoly at (mma) combat sports.
No one else will.
Khabib is highly overpaid as well.

If you're big and have power you get PAID. Derrick Lewis has no skills and he's pulling in over half a mil per fight. Doesnt even put in roadwork or mat time and makes more than the entire flyweight roster.

That's not how fighter's contracts work. Overeem has been around a long time, has been popular a long time and signed his contracts after very big wins, he's also an exciting HW so he gets payed well.

that why im shocked ufc matched bellator offer to overeem.

but really who cares what some one who been in the ufc and strikeforce for 10 plus years.

Why hate? Reems a multiple sport athlete with almost 20 years in the game. Well deserved imo. Don't we always complain about fighter pay? Why complain when someone who isn't Dana's boy/girl is red pantying it?

Champion overpaid
<{hfved}>
You're a confused little man.

The problem isn’t what overeem is getting paid, it’s what 95% of the others fighters are making. It’s insane that top 20 fighters in the world, in a popular sport, are making 25-50k a fight. Everyone jumped on football about cte, atleast the pros in that sport are making life changing money.

that's a lot of bones, but i don't think getting knocked out too many times makes you lose your drawing power (once you're already kinda established like the Reem).

especially in HW division. even casuals understand the dangers of fighting at HW.

Its called contracts and you negotiate for what you think you should get paid. Reem has been around for awhile and has impressive resume so all that comes into factors when signing on the dotted line.

Are you some kind of asshole who cries for equal pay?>

Who has fought as many times as Reem?

His background makes him that much money, just like IRL for the most part.

Then you will appreciate this thread.

Org |Total Revenue | Revenue split | Highest paid | Lowest paid | Ratio
UFC | estimated $700M in 2017 | estimated 10% | Conor $3,030,000 | $11,500 | 300:1
NBA | $7.4b (2017-8) | 51% (CBA) | Curry $37,500,000 | $582,180 | 64.5:1
MLB | $10.3B (2018) | ~50% (extrapolated) | Trout $33,250,000 | $555,000 | 60:1

NHL | $4.86B (2017-8) | 50% (CBA) | McDavid $15,000,000 | $650,000 | 23:1

Also, there's this: https://thesportsdaily.com/2019/01/13/2018-ufc-fighter-salaries-complete-list-fox11/

In 2018 the median average pay was $68k. Brush up on you stats if you don't know what median average is, or why I might choose to use it instead of mean average, or what value using it allows.

UFC started with something called a 'Tournament Economic Theory' pay structure. What they have today is not that, but it is strongly influenced by those early days. And why would they change it up voluntarily? They wouldn't. UFC has the power to keep the pay structure the way it is. And there are plenty of folks willing to step in for a guy like 'Su Mudaerji' or 'Tyler Diamond' (two random guys I picked at the $13k pay level) if they don't want a shot, so there is little incentive for the UFC to change.

If they ever change, it will be from external pressure. Most likely from collective bargaining, but there are several other ways too.

who gives a shit? out of all the things to complain about this wouldn’t even register on the list. With all the CTE he’s put himself through he deserves this money (and it’s still not enough).

Are you paying their salaries?

Be glad for the man, they should all at least make this imo
