The Shonuf Award: Mod of the Year​

2022 is now in the books. The awards for most of the other categories are up or currently being decided, with the finals of Poster of the Year coming very soon. Every year seems to one-up the last with craziness, but despite that, the terrific team on the forums here keeps it pushing day after day, month after month. Here is where we give love to the staff around the Heavies this year, because they deserve it for all their hard work. If you're wondering why a mod may be missing, there's one of three reasons: they aren't Heavies regulars, they weren't active in the booth for the majority of this year (the newbies will be eligible next year), or they politely declined nomination. It's not because we don't love them. These are the Heavies awards. F2 represent.

I want to give a huge thanks to the staff here, you have no idea what kind of work they put into keeping this site afloat. It's truly remarkable. The years keep churning by and wacky things keep happening, and the team is here to run this rig come hell or high water. While the first few days of this year have sucked so far, I am still looking forward to what 2023 brings.

@giovanni_ss - this guys been such a great part of the team. He’s always making pbp for minor orgs, helping out with shoop stuff, making article threads. He just has his hands in everything and you won’t meet a nicer dude

@PurpleStorm hes brought a calmness to the moderation team that I really appreciate. He’s another one you’ll see picking up thread duties, cleaning up big news stories, and always doing it with a really great attitude.

@Substance Abuse is probably the highest traffic mod we have right now in terms of post count. He is the exact same dude he was when he was a poster. Authentic, just here to watch fights, and honest. It’s exactly the kind of person fight fans would want moderating. I feel like he sets a really good tone for the heavies. I’m a big fan.

It’s been a pleasure working with everyone this year.

Last year I got Jack, Zeb and Augustus Caesar. This year, I gotta give it to my fellow batch mods @Substance Abuse and @PurpleStorm.

I've seen Subs take the bullet for others a lot of times, and take some of the hardest hits for the team without hesitation. Behind a polarizing exterior, the man's got heart. Purp on the other hand is the calmer voice, always supportive and genuine with his thoughts and actions, and got wit and humor too! Thankful to these two and really glad to be friends with them even before we got called up.

The other vote goes to @helax coz I got to bond with him this year and the cool people in the Sportsbook section with the DWCS and other non UFC pbps. He is awesome.
