He didn't say it when he should have. If he'd have said it before continuing in the round in which it happened, this wouldn't have occurred the way it did. He took five mins and continued, Henry fucked up.

You can't say that you're okay to continue, then fight for another minute, then change your mind and say you can't continue after all.

The ref needed to call it either a NC or a DQ during the foul, or a TKO (retirement) at the end of the round when Henry said he was done. There's no way that is supposed to go to a dec just so Song could avoid the NC or DQ and have a chance to win on points either.

Ref followed the rules, the corner never stopped the fight during the break, once the commission clears the corners the ref has no choice but to start the next round, its not the first time they start a round and pause it inmidiatly to get the doctor in.

When the inadvertent foul happened. There was only 1:16 left in round 3. Clearly, beyond the halfway point of the fight.

So, whatever anybody says. Song won. It was NOT ruled an intentional foul. So, no point deduction, or DQ.

I think Herzog started the round because Henry's corner didn't end the fight from the stool and if they would've, that would've guaranteed Henry loses. By starting the 4th round then calling the doctor it allowed the fight to at least be scored versus a TKO from the stool.

There was no gaming of rules or pushing for the technical decision. It was already a technical decision when more than half of the 3rd round was complete.

He tried to game the rules and maybe didn't know them well enough to actually game them. But the intention is fucking clear. You can't continue, you can't continue. No fucking way a fight should ever restart in those conditions.

If Henry then later says he can't continue, that's retirement. This is exactly what he did.

The ref can't roll it back and change his mind after Henry chose to continue.

Yep just watched it again, the commission cleared the corners and after that is that Henry's corner decides to speak up and call the doctor in, the ref did nothing wrong, at that point he had no choice but to start the round, Henry's corner failed him like it usually happens in MMA for whatever reason

Then why couldn't they just call it then? Henry already said he couldn't see. The ref always does the "fighter, you ready? you ready?" thing after the corners leave, so essentially Henry was saying no.
