That time Stephan Bonnar beat Jon Jones....

Rumble managed to beat Bader telepathically, including some kind of waking night terror. One of the best uses of voodoo magik we've seen in MMA.

I don’t care what anyone says. Everything about Bader and his body language indicated that he was legit scared. Immediate panic shot. Sprawled out his belly, eating bombs. They could have called the cops on Rumble for assault.

Of all Jones decisions he only unanimously didn't lose a round vs Smiffy, OSP and GloTex, and I don't agree with GloTex as I remember scoring a round for him.

He also lost round 1 vs Machida. He dropped rounds to Cormier in both fights, so he also dropped rounds in fights where he got finishes too.

It's not like Khabib where it was genuinely a rare occurrence.
Pretty sure only one out of three judges gave machida round one.

Jones totally gassed himself in that fight being overly offensive, wasting tons of energy on flashy stuff, aggressively going for the finish against a guy that's extremely difficult to finish. If that fight had been 5 there's a good chance Bonnar could have won.

Imagine how much that could have changed history lol

Indeed
Bonnar was 10 min away from beating Jon Jones

That was a big talking point about Jones for a while, that his cardio might be a weakness to exploit in later rounds, almost like modern Khamzat. But Jones proved that to not be the case at all whereas Khamzat still hasn't.

All I remember is Jones ragdolling Bonnar for 2/3 rounds so I'm not sure how you get to Bonnar beating him by being slightly better in round 3.

He did lose third but overall it was a clear dec for Bones. Of course he wasnt the fighter he became to be yet but you could see the trend and potential.

And maaaaany people here picked Shogun to destroy him. Oh I remember well. There were multiple "war wagons" crashed that night.
"Champion 2011" had this place big mad. What a glorious night that was.

yeah i remember watching that fight back in the day too. back before anyone really knew who he was. bonnar was pretty competitive IIRC but i don't think anyone thought he won the fight.

no but you can inject shit that will help you train longer and harder than the rest of your peers.
Yea you can go to any major camp in the world and find it readily available. I’m not saying this from a place of ignorance or an armchair. I spent years at ATT,AKA, Blackzilians etc. All of your favorite fighters have finessed the system in differing ways to get an edge it’s just part of the sport whether it’s for weight cuts, or recovery, or cardio, etc etc. My 20’s were spent bouncing between many of the best MMA gyms in the country. I would never say any individual names but Juicing is common as fuck. Quite literally the only place I never saw it with my own eyes or heard it with my own ears is when I trained with the Diaz brothers (when Nick fought Shamrock I was in his camp for sparring for 3 weeks)…and we just smoked a lot of weed.

With that said you CANNOT inject skill. Does it help? Sure. Will it make you Jon Fucking Jones? HEEEELLLL NO 😂

I was on the Vera train, too. It’s ok sherbro.
Let’s have an honest conversation SHERDOG the real reason for the Jon hate and desire to see his downfall in the cage is because he beat our favorite fighters and derailed countless hype trains. Shit I despised the guy going into the Rashad fight. Rashad was my homie I was at his camp at imperial athletics (original home of the Blackzilians) I was there day in day out as he prepared to beat Jones. I have NEVER seen a fighter more prepared for a fight than Rashad was. He was a fucking unit training with the best in the world day in day out. Then I was there in the second row watching Jones toy with him and break him down for 5 rounds….i was in disbelief. I never doubted Jones again I saw that there was a megaladon swimming in the ocean of sharks and haven’t doubted his skill since. Jon is the greatest to ever grace a cage. It is what it is.

We’re now at the retarded state that people thought Jon lost to bonnar.

If so, check your score card
he is attention whoreing with his crooked title. The time Stephan Bonar (Rest in peace) beat Jon 1 round on 2/3 score cards and unamiously lost the fight. These guys are young and go back watch MMA history and make threads about it. Which is fine. But no love for attention grab headlines.

So you think Pride with absolutely no testing or Strikeforce with absolutely no tests were somehow clean AT ALL yet they still didn’t have anything close to Jones. Yet here you are dumb as a Monday tedious still crying about steroids when the fucking fact remains if you remove the fights he tested positive or even tried to count them as losses he still has the greatest record and highlight reel. It’s getting cringe

Anyone that watches the sport for the skill in the octagon period shouldn’t be ashamed in saying Jones is the best mma talent we will likely see. Even if the game evolves to a ton of more fighters his level they won’t havehis dominance because the skill would be too insane

Jon’s destruction of Rua did it for me.

Cool story about Brandon though. I knew he was from VA and hoped to run into him at one of the local gyms or tourneys or something. I don’t think he trained or lived here though once he went pro.
