That Ben Askren fight was a disappointment

Agreed. I wanted Askren to win, so he could later be destroyed by Khabib, but Masvidal executed (what was clearly) an absolutely perfect, choreographed strategy designed to embarrass the shit out of Askren.

Masvidal underscored his point the entire feud, namely the difference between multi-dimensional MMA and one-dimensional wrestling. Props to Masvidal for executing a game plan to perfection ... his smile before, and his full-on sprint-to-knee, all the while knowing the Asperger-clown would duck right into it.

Yea but this was a pretty historic moment though and it was totally awesome. Ben loses his 0, it's the fastest KO in UFC history. Jorge was the underdog and I'm glad he won like this, I hope he can get some real momentum coming out of this legendary KO.

For a guy who ppl say has no real K.O power .....he has 2 of the hardest most explosive back to back k.O's in ww if not UFC history.

I don't think he ever lacked power I think his timing has just improved alot and he has found his aggression to go after it. Which in my opinion was the biggest knock against him in those hotly contested split decision losses.

This was a real fight. Askren taunted everyone relentlessly from his first day in the UFC. The MMA gods blessed Robby Lawler to dump him on his head. When that wasn't enough, they put wings to the knee of Masvidal and that thing soared through Askrens chin.

Now Robby, Till and the rest of the world are finally able to sleep easy.

I like a full meal, not just the dessert, even though I love dessert. It was a spectacular K.O. I would just have liked to see some more of the fight. I know we are in MMA and wrestlers dominate but even Khabib, Usman, DC, GSP land strikes, Khabib does flying knees to Al, Barboza, drops Conor and Usman unloaded at Woodley in near TKO-but Askren? Has he ever wobbled anybody in a fight?

Even if you were a Ben Askren hater you have to admit you wanted to see the fight last longer. Just like we all wanted to see the Conor vs. Aldo fight last longer even those of us who badly wanted to see Aldo lose.

Ben's 2 fights in the UFC have both been disappointing. 1st fight - Herb Dean robs us of a definitive ending and then 2nd fiht lasts a few seconds.

I guess now a Robbie Lawler rematch is next for Ben....either that or Darren Till.

I think he can get back up and solidify a couple decent wins....he still has a good 1 or 2 years left and his style doesn't rely on explosiveness/power, meaning more longevity.

Ben has a legit chance to catch Till though.
Till is not a killer striker like Masvidal and is very vulnerable on the ground. Jorge Masvidal was just a bad matchup for Ben Askren just to begin with.
