Terror attack at Pakistani playground; at least 52 dead, mostly Christians

A suicide bomber killed at least 52 people outside a children's play area in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore, rescue officials and police said.

The blast occurred in the parking area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park - a few feet away from children's swings.

Salman Rafique, a Punjab government official, put the death toll at least 52 people.

Mustansar Feroz, superintedent of police for the area added: "Most of the dead and injured are women and children."

Lashkar-e-Islam claimed responsibility, saying it was to avenge a military court's sentencing of 13 militants to death.

Pakistani security forces stepped up their fight against the Pakistani Taliban and allied militants along the border with Afghanistan after the massacre of 134 children at an army-run school in Peshawar in December 2014

Pakistan is a mess.

The depravity of the Islamic terrorists knows no bounds. Attacking a children's playground. What a bunch of cowards. Going after military bases and stuff is one thing, but specifically targeting schools, playgrounds, and other areas which exist to serve children...come on, that's just as low as you can get.

Source is terrible, but the story is legit.

EDIT: Looks like they were Christians, which adds a whole 'nother dimension to this depraved act.
