Calm down guys, I'm pretty sure she's in "old lady" makeup there.

Linda doesn't look THAT old these days

or does she? crap, I can't tell. I HOPE that's old lady makeup.

If it IS old lady makeup, they made her look about 70. And she's currently 61 so that should tell us that the movie takes place sometime around 2027. But I can't tell man maybe she just looks like a senior citizen these days :(

So far, I've refused to even acknowledge the existence of any Terminator movie after T2.

I don't see this one changing my mind.

I think many of us have come to the conclusion that Terminator without Cameron is way more problematic than the notion of a Terminator film without Arnie. Schwarzengger is great, but it's clear that Cameron was more essential to the success of that franchise. Once he was out, it was a major decline in quality.

Terminator 3, I thought, had some fun moments but man does it pale in comparison to the first two. Terminator Salvation was just so mediocre and dull. One of the few movies I can think of where Bale seemingly had nothing interesting to do.

Genysis was just rough.

That is what 61 year olds look like without plastic surgery and botox.

I know, and I don't think she looks bad irl these days. Not for a 61 yr old.

But in that behind the scenes pic she looks freakin rough. She seriously looks about 70 there.

Jet Li effect. The camera adds 50 years.

At this point it seems like the Terminator franchise is beyond redemption. The TV show tried to expand it into a universe but the movies only want to rehash the same character's stories over and over. Problem is the actors aren't getting any younger, and the producers think they don't need a compelling story as long as they have the recognizable faces.

Yeah that's always been my gripe too. We don't need to see any more of John or Sarah or Arnie. I'm pretty sure more than 3 important people exist in the future....or the past or whatever. There's a whole universe to explore with this story but they just won't even try it.

Geezus, did James Cameron like drain the life forces of his former and current wives? Only Katherine Bigelow got out of their marriage before Cameron did any damage to her
I mean she was almost 30 way back in the first one

Yeah.. Yeah we do need those people. John saving the world, and a mothers struggle to get him there, is what the series is about.

I loved the way they shot T1 using stop motion with the chrome skeleton model etc. I don't think CGI does anything for these films.

The atmosphere and story is always 98% of the battle.

I don't think it's a problem that they used different parts of the same story. Who didn't want to see a good back story of John Connor's fight against the machines (e.g., Terminator Salvation)? The real problem is that they fucked the story up repeatedly after T2. It's the execution, not the subject matter, that was the problem.
