I really hope Miller tries to make this new trilogy look similar to either of the first two films. Tonally and aesthetically I want to be able to watch 1 and 2 and then these and feel like they all complement each other and are a natural progression from one another.

And then my really big wish is for Brad Fiedel to return. If fucking John Carpenter can return for Halloween, something no one thought would happen in a million years, then Fiedel can return for Terminator. There's no one else out there who can do it justice besides him. Not even the great Danny Elfman.

I'm still completely dumbfounded that William Wisher wasn't included in the writers room. As I watched Cameron and Miller talk about them building out the new trilogy, how can you have a writers room and not include Wisher? Not only is he supposed to be great friends with Cameron, but he was willing to return to the franchise back around T:S. Not only that, but he was interviewed about T2:3D not that long ago and had some good things to say about it. So this makes no sense. Literally WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

I'm expecting great thingz.

It's cool being so far into our real future that you can have the same actors come back much older. No make-up to create the effect, it's natural aging that adds to the story.

Pretty simple to divert the series away to another reality after T2 in this universe. The whole thing is about time travel so you simply need a quick tie in from the end of the current series where Skynet sendz a terminator or even a Skynet executive, or soldier, or someone back to alter the reality.

I want to see them tie it in though so that all the other Terminator movies are still valid, but after Skynet realized that timeline was failing they made moves to create a new timeline in hopes of getting a different result. That's the only way it works imo. Then we can all move happily along with the new trilogy.

I wouldn't compare it with SW. It's the same approach the Alien crew is using, scratching everything after the second movie. Shamefull, i say. They don't get my money after all the shenanigans they pulled.

I think they have the asterisk by those ones because the holy trinity (Arnie, Hamilton, Cameron) weren't together. If it still turns out badly with those three involved there will be no more excuses.

Though I still kind of feel Cameron not directing is tacit admission he doesn't care enough anymore, and the project will suffer for it.

I liked Salvation. Wish the movie would focus more on the wars in the future and less on traveling through time. Whatever they do I just hope it's something new and not the same old, terminator from the past protecting humans from some future robot that's hunting them.
