Right now I'm with a patient, the teevee is on some random movie with Tarantino and Clooney, who's in eye liner, trying to look tough with a gun.
It ain't working.

There's an age limit on tough.

Today I was in court with a detective that was 55 years old and burly. He was a man and could handle what he needed to. Depends on the kind of "tough" we are talking.

Broadly agreed.
I just looked it up, it's FDTD. One of the only films I've ever walked out of.
'96 and he still looks too old to be a movie tough guy.
But as long as it's shooting guns it's believable.
I just don't go for that arthritic fighting.

Haha, god damn. Has any movie contiued a story, dismissing the sequels that came first?

Just a random one I can think of is Universal Soldier. There were like three low-budget sequels made to the first film but when Van Damme came back and made Universal Soldier: The Return, all the sequels were tossed out.

Rocky Balboa for all intents and purposes ignores Rocky V.

And I never did quite understand the plot of Terminator: Genisys but I think it pretends like the events of T3 and Salvation never happened.

I'm pretty sure that if the new Alien movie ever gets made that it will at least ignore Alien: Resurrection.

Because of time travel, they were able to find a loop hole. Movie shouldve worked well, and for their efforts, it didnt bore me. But Arnold is old now. Its difficult to buy on screen. Why is there only one terminator that resembles a human? The first fleshed one in Terminator, that attacks the refuge, he wasnt arnold. May had been Sarahs dream, but to turn an actual result in the war, i believe Skynet would make more human molds to fool their foe.

And yes, Bloomkamp or whatever the fuck, was going to do what this shit is attempting, but Scott shit his own bed, spilling the feces onto Blooms idea.

Genisys was aaiight. I didn't outright hate it, but I didn't particularly like it either.

As for Terminator's resembling humans, didn't they all either resemble humans directly or have the ability to do so? For instance, the T-800 is molded to look like a human. The T-1000 is liquid metal but can take the shape of any human it touches. The T-X is a young, fit hottie.

LOL. Jesus.

Oh you got specific. I wad merely pointing out that they keep using arnold, which i dont think is necessary. People love the the t 800. Anyone can really play it, honestly. But we tune in for the bots, period, which means, who honestly cares about Hamilton rejoining?

In Genysys, i actually liked the asian t 1000. As said, i didnt care who plays it, as it was still effective. Same goes for the t800.

The girl one, dont remember the model, but she can stay put. Her and the John Connor cyborg.

I hope Don Cheadle's the new Terminator

I'm just worried about the role of John Connor. A recast just isn't going to feel right, especially with Linda back. Somebody get the studio to get off their ass and hire Furlong a personal trainer and nutritionist. Put it in his contract that for every 15 pounds he loses, that's another $150k added to his base check. Perhaps the end goal could be a trim 175 lbs. If he hits that before filming, give him an extra bonus worth $500k.

After all, if Linda looks like worn leather, a plump Eddie isn't going to be that big of a deal. Not to mention they could CGI some of his fat away if they had to.

I really think you need to let that dream go.

There's no way in hell Edward Furlong will ever play John Connor again. And frankly, if he did, something tells me you'd be seriously disappointed.

I'm ok with this:

Dammit, if they can make Carrie Fisher look passable for Ep VII, I have no doubt they can make Furlong look passable too.

Still got great hair......... if he washed it once in a while.

You're right @shadow_priest_x in there's no way Eddie Furlong will get cast.

But let me try something here:

John Connor literally has the weight of the entire world on his shoulders; he was told from a young age the machines will rise and end mankind and he is literally the saviour.

What do you think that would do to a person really? All that pressure, all that expectation. What do you think it would do to a big momma's boy?

You'd crack, you'd crumble under the pressure, the burden of this. You'd self destruct, become a self loathing, self doubting mess.

And you'd end up like this

PAY-Edward-Furlong.jpg

It could be a story of JC's redemption and living up to being the saviour of mankind.

So Furlong could start the movie looking like the tub of crap he looks here, but redeem himself and fulfill his destiny and become awesome.

But still a fat tub of shit.

EVEN MORE BREAKING NEWS: And you'll still watch it

; )

EVEN MOREREREST BREAK....

Haha perhaps! But I doubt it, fine sir. I saw T2 in the theater after months of begging my dad as I was 10 at the time. Despite being a stubborn mule sbout nearly everything, he relented and then thanked me for talking him into it because that movie on thr big screen in 1991 BLEW OUR FUCKING MINDS.

I skipped the third one, watched Salvation because Bale rules but...

Laughed at the mere thought of seeing C-tier actor filled GEN9SYSTOOEDGY or that TV show.

Not everything needs a sequel and I'm well past the age of seeing any dipshit movie at the cinema because I'm bored. :( Kind of miss those days tbh.

Same goes for Shane Black's new Predator movie. Let those franchises live out their legacies in the late 80s/early 90s and to be passed on from father to son as one of the steps to becoming a man.

I commend you for skipping Genysysyyyyysysysysss. You were spot on avoiding it; it's worse than watching the video in The Ring.

I wanted to skip it, cos I can spot shite a mile off.

But I'm weak, I just wanted to watch a Terminator movie. However, I think this one has a sliver of a chance, what with all the involvement of the original players. So lets wait and see how this develops.

Fine sir.

Fwiw @DM1982 I hope it is good, too. I've just become a cynical sonovabitch when it comes to movies these days.

Yeah - maybe after T2, John figured that, well, they prevented judgement day, no need to get all buff and become the resistance leader now. He ends up sitting on his ass a lot, eating old school Doritos and drinking a lot of RC Cola while hacking mid-90's 28k modems and listening to GnR . Then one day, he finds out they didn't prevent judgement day, and he now must get in shape to save the world.

Cue work out montage.
