Cameron being involved doesn't make it a good movie

It also doesn't erase peoples memories of the other movies

Like I said before he is adding new story on top of an already finished story. its impossible that it wont be shit
And Cameron and Hamilton being involved doesn't automatically make it a bad movie either.
Your assertion that "its impossible that it won't be shit" is completely baseless.
You don't know what the new story is, or what Hamilton's role will be.
And in the description of the new movie it said that it would be a handing off of the baton of sorts to NEW characters. It isn't going to be a 60 year old Hamilton running around for 2 hours shooting rocket launchers.

If this movie is picked up from T2 then the story is NOT finished. If the original creator of the movie is coming back to helm this new trilogy then I am willing to give this series a lot more faith than whomever were the ones responsible for T3, Genesis, or the last one with Khaleesi as Sarah.
I have no problem forgetting the existence of the shit Terminator movies, just like I had no problem forgetting the shit Xmen and Wolverine movies when I enjoyed Logan.

She's never been a 10 but she wasn't a bad looking girl in T1.

Mehhhhhhh.....not ugly......but..not my type.
Pretty much definition of average to me.
Not that that matters to me, I don't really care what she looks like since she's never been sold to me as a sex symbol

Do you really want the last thing you remember to be Rise of the Machines through Genisys? Nexus Points? Talk to the hand? The post-1991 timeline needs to be erased and James Cameron is sending people back to fix it.

they won't be the last things I remember because I will continue to watch t1 and t2 the not the others. I'm happy with the series ending at t2 nothing needs to be fixed just ignore the rest. I'm not a big fan of going back and rebooting.

I don't have much faith in current Cameron and he liked genisys( I know he was shilling fuck him)

That said if the trailer looks promising I'll prob be dooped into seeing

Brad Fiedel is a must. I know he's retired, but James Cameron must pull every string he's got to get him to return to score this new trilogy. Fiedel's music was the soul of the first two films. He's just as important to this franchise as James Cameron himself IMO.

He was only saying that as a favor to Arnold. Since then he's come out and basically lumped it in with the other two, as being shit.

He's made a terrible decision to invest the rest of his directing career into Avatar, but if we toss out Piranha 2 then everything else he has done has been great. I wouldn't write him off just yet.

Yeah so he lied to fans to get them to spend money on a film that he thought was shit so fuck him

Ridiculous standard, especially for something like a movie.
Just because he didn't like it doesn't mean everyone else would as well. As someone that is that connected to the movie no one should really read too much into his opinions because you can't be sure you'll get an actual take. He could legit love it, or he could hate it for a variety of reasons that a general fan wouldn't give a shit about.

As I said if the trailer looks good I'll prob see but I'm not all giddy that he's involve. I also wouldn't call avatar a great film same with titanic. He also wasted a bit his feature film career directing
Documentaries. If you take out a piranha 2 he only has 7 feature films.

Don't get me wrong I love some Cameron films(t1 t2 true lies)

My issue was him being part of the marketing it wasn't like he was on the street or in a unrelated interview and someone asked him

Sorry but the story is finished

This is just a cash grab not unlike what Ridley Scott has done with the Alien franchise

You don't know what the new story is

I know what the story is going to be.

Its going to be the same recycled bullshit as before

1990's cameron wouldnt pull this bullshit.

I guess we should be thankful because they need to get excitment and momentum going somehow.

So its either you bring back big named fossils like linda or you make this movie an all female cast...

I guess we got the lesser of two evils

I'd have to find both videos but essentially during the promotion of T:G, Cameron kept talking about how great it was (obviously a favor to Arnold because the more money the movie makes the more money Arnold makes. Cameron was trying to help his BFF. He did something similar with T3, by telling Arnold to get as much money as he possibly could for it), and then some time after that, I think when Cameron was discussing his Terminator 2 3D conversion, he was asked about getting the rights back and somewhere in there he mentioned how the series really went further and further astray with each entry and that they really fucked things up and that maybe someday he'd possibly right the wrongs.

Also, I embedded a direct quote from Cameron basically admitting that TG was shit. It's in one of the other Terminator threads. I'll look for it.

Here's one. There's also a video, but that's gonna be harder to find.

From the other thread:

Ha, I knew it........ (Cameron didn't really like any of the later Terminator films)

“I think it’s fairly widely known that I don’t have a lot of respect for the films that were made later,” Cameron says. “I was supportive at the time in each case for Arnold’s sake because he is a close friend. He has been a mate of mine since 33 years ago so I was always supportive and never too negative. But they didn’t work for me for various reasons.”

James Cameron hoping to make new Terminator trilogy

I'm kind of excited about this.

They should get the older brother from stranger things (finally watched and finished that show... AWESOME!!).
He looks like ed furlongs twin.
Yeah the involvement of Friedman from the TV series and an not-completely-hacky directory in Miller have me flirting with optimism. I also like the idea of jumping off from T2 and having new characters take up the torch.

I like Hamilton and Arnie but to me it requires too much story pretzeling to explain their aged characters so I'd be fine without them.

Obviously this franchise doesn't need to continue. But if it must, they're at least trying to put the right pieces together.
